Furtaba has been the benchmark that all others are compared to. JR was in the running, they're gone. Love my 18MZ. I think it's odd how important telemetry is to people. I see it as a novelty more than anything. If we set our models up properly and remember to put electrons in the batteries and dinosaurs in the gas tank, we're usually pretty good. With that said, I have a feeling Futaba spent some time and money on the telemetry stuff..... ;-)

I am so happy Futaba is coming out with the"32". Been using the brand since the 80's Always worked for me, currently I have the T16SZH. NO complaints here about the telemetry. I've got most of their sensors and they all work fine, Powerbox mercury teleconverter transmits the telemetry ok. Someone on this post mentioned no talking timer. Mine talks very well(female voice) and can either count up or down. I will admit it is a expensive brand, paying for the name I guess? However my point is that I feel Futaba is a good make and we should all be anxiously waiting for the new dream radio to come out...

Great would be priced at or below a Jeti 24. Priced somewhere close to an 18MZ is par for the course for Futaba unfortunately. The 18 MZ even when it first came out was priced about 1K more than it should have been for what it was/is IMO.

Yeah, I set a couple of my jets up with the talking timer last night. Easy stuff. Hopefully get a chance to try it out this weekend in Mississippi and see how I like it.

Only problem is the sound is not loud enough if anyone else is flying. I wish they would fix that and also the screen turned all the way up is not bright enough in Sunlight. I wanted to be able to assign a voice to a switch on the SZ16 but Futaba told me I would have to spend for a 18MZ if I wanted that feature. It is funny how for $100 I can get that feature from FRsky but can't on a $800 radio. I do love the FUTABA and it's programming but they really need to get on the ball and give people what other cheaper radios do or they will end up just like JR.

[QUOTE=geneh-RCU;12517396]Yes you can set a switch to give telemetry info. You can't have your switch say landing gear up or Flaps up etc.[/QUOT
Unfortunately not.

Typical Japanese business practice... Don't innovate too quickly. Just keep selling what you sell, the customer will deal with it.
Pity.. I have LOTS of Futaba stuff including the 18mzh. You might think they would design a more robust Tx antenna..but no. They make a cheap one. a $3000 radio and they stay cheap.. Don't be surprised if Futaba goes the way of JR.

Had the FF7C, the 8FG, the 14MZ with TM 2.4Ghz module and now have the 18MZ and never, never, broke or needed replacing an antenna. So not a real or serious issue for me.
