It was during the event Jetpower Norway Friday afternoon that air showings went completely wrong.

A five-meter-long model airplane weighing eighty kilos and having 200 horsepower got trouble in the air. The engine exploded and cut the wires to the control system.

- Everything looked normal until we heard the bang. Then we realized that the plane would crash. It was strange to see the flame sea when the driverless plane hit the ground, says NRK's reporter on the spot, Kurt Inge Dale.

No one was injured
Despite ugly scenes, no one was injured in the accident.

- I'm glad the security measures worked as they should. There was no danger for some people, says organizer Trond Hammerstad to NRK.

- It's totally tragic. That plane has been flying on show around the world for two years. I have never seen similar.

NRK happened to talk to the owner of the model aircraft who crashed ahead of the accident. Then he told me it was a difficult flight to control.

Same, I'm assuming it was the one that was at FL Jets about 3 years ago. Bummer.

All of a sudden, it works.

That was a sweet 4 point roll too. Big fire ball. Too bad for such a beautiful model.
