Awe, that's a bummer, ha-ha. On their webpage they state, "Not enough with that, all these goodies are already factory pre-installed in the ARF-Plus upgraded airplane." It's not a big deal, but interesting none the less.

So im liking the idea of this jet more and more. Would like some feedback on if I should go with X45 or like a jet central Hornet which is about 19lbs thrust.
i dont need a speed demon but dont want one that is underpowered.
i mainly fly big air stuff, couple HS passes. More precision type stuff.
My alt. Is 3200feet and its gets over 100 in the summer, but i wont be flying in afternoon as its just too darn hot for this 50 year old! Lol

The gear are pre-installed, though.

Best to have throttle and not need it than need it and not have it. I have an 85 in mine. Home field is 2600asl. No regrets. I'd be worried about the jet getting small, quick, with those 50 year old eye, though, lol! I don't have much room to talk, as I'm 45, and I can tell you this little jet gets small quick if you want it to. I fly same as you it seems, loops with roll variations in them, tall humptys, cubans, point/slow rolls, etc. I do it all at probably half power. but pour the coals to that 85, and I am teasing the 200mph limit on the first pass. Heck of a fun jet when over-powered, IMO.

For those who have had a T-One T-1 Mini (or Micro) and the CARF Rebel Hot, how do they compare in regards to quality and flight character?

I haven't owned one, but I do know for sure they are heavier by at least 2lbs, and more prone to snapping out unexpectedly(at least I've heard, and have read about more than once in the T-1 mini thread). Finish will appear nicer because they are painted outside the mold, but that's also one reason why they are heavier. I do like that they come with the xicoy gyro gear controller and that they offer a PNP option. I can build/assemble, even enjoy it sometimes, but I would much rather receive a plane today and have it ready to fly tomorrow.

a friend with the T1 mini has a k70 installed and feels it needs more power
he watched my Rebel Hot with X45 the same day and was very impressed with it’s speed and vertical performance.
the paint on the T1 is nice but heavy.
The hot being painted in the mold is much lighter.

Im at 10.8lbs empty and most t1’s seem to be in the 17lb range empty!!!
Both are the same size.

t1 micro is about the same weight as my Hot but smaller

guy in the T1 mini thread just posted that his friend's weighs 17.8lbs DRY. That's 1.5lbs heavier than mine is wet, and people on here ridiculed mine for how heavy I built it!

If have had both the T-One and Rebel in 2 meter. I would not get the T-One over the Rebel if I had it to do again. The Rebel is noticeably lighter, it is easier to assemble at the field, seems to fly better, and was a couple hundred dollars less expensive than the Non PNP, even with the gear, tank, and pipe installed..

About the only thing I like more about the T-One over the Rebel is the split tank for fuel and smoke the T-One has that the Rebel does not have, the T-One PNP option, and more stock color options.

I would recommend the Rebel.

Is there a smoke tank option I’m not seeing?

Thinking of maybe going this route..

On the hot? No. but the tank is rather sizely and you could do a type of standpipe tap off your main tank and just smoke diesel. I've seen it done successfully on small jets before and the smoke cloud isn't terribly bad. On the stock tank, with my 85, I fly a good 6-6.5 minutes and land with about a half tank left, consistently.

Thank you. The Rebel seems like a great option. I really love the paint schemes of the T-1, but I value flight attributes and quality even more.

Just placed my order for a Rebel Hot in a color swap.
Hopefully should arrive in a few months, so I will have time to gather all the other parts (and re-read this whole thread again) for a winter build.

Are you in the states? All my orders have taken 10 weeks or less from the time I ordered.
IMO, either build it super light like Bob B did and put a 45 in it, or put a 70-80 in it and keep the build simple. This is such a fun jet, especially with an 80!

I was out Sunday flying in High Temps and Humidity and the X45 pushes it just fine, I'm at 900 feet ASL.
It's a hoot to fly!

I'm sure, and I'm sure it's great for short fields as well. But 195mph passes on a sport jet and accelerated vertical are a hoot, too!

FYI, yesterday as i was landing I noticed the front canopy securing pin had slid forward enough to disengage from the canopy. Using a pair of pliers I made a slight kink in the rod to keep it from backing out.

Don't have to worry about that on my Ultra Flash - I have to use pliers just to get it out!

Well, finally home after a 3 month deployment and super excited to unbox my rebel hot and then I get to the fuse and it’s game over. Lots of cracks and chipping , major cracking extending from rudder Hinge line Thru to the stabs. Cracking in front of vertical stab from canopy to vertical and cracking in the sides of the fuse aft of Rear canopy Area. Contacted mike mcconville to see what my options are. It just sux I waited so long and now have to wait for another to be made. I’m starting to hate the fact I’m into jets now. Nothing but sitting around and waiting for stuff in this area of the hobby.

Wow, so sorry to see that but also can say I have never seen anything like that before! And I know how bad it is to finally have a little time to be home with your stuff and then to be denied the pleasure after waiting is the worst. Anybody else just imagine waiting for Christmas as a kid and having nothing under the tree.
But I think all of us would like to know if this was done by the shipper or was that done at CARF plant? What condition was the box in?
