Rebel Hot by Comp Arf

Just had another Hot kit and got the chance to unpack this one, as I said the hoop former does nothing other than hold the shape.
Usual CARF quality on the moldings, looks like a strong model
This one will have the new MacGregor 2810 10kg servos.

Ray got in touch with me. Said the container ships next week. Wasn't sure what color I'd end up with, but was confident he can get me into an ARF-plus, so I sent the deposit!
Thinking savox 1250s everywhere except rudder(1260).
Also thinking gyro, but a budget one, like the Aura or spektrum.
is everyone pretty much using the supplied header tank, or something else?

Round tanks are great because where ever the clunk rolls to, there is fuel, but in a dive late on in the flight the clunk can be exposed. That’s the bubble traps job and I think the MAP unit is the best option currently available.

What is your AUW/take-off weight on this aircraft? Would you say you like the power of the 85, or would you rather have had a bigger jet for it?
I was originally going to pull my SW60B out of my HSD Viper to put in this, but thinking of keeping it flying as my warm-up/beater jet. So if I get a new turbine for my HOT it would likely be the SW80B(17.5lbs thrust).
My HSD Viper has a take-off weight of nearly 20lbs. I would say the SW60B powers it 'marginally' for my flying style. I've read that this one has a take-off weight closer to 15lbs and I'm wondering if that's accurate. Even at that weight, though, the 60 would be less than a 1:1 thrust/weight, and I'm more of a power guy...

There is no way the take off weight is ever going to be 15lb, but this is a clean airframe, so I think a 60N turbine would be perfect, we fly the larger CARF Joker with a JetCat P60 and that flies from grass without any problems.
I think the 80 is too big for this airframe.

Are you saying it's going to be heavier? The website description calls for a take-off weight of 6-7kg(13.2-15.4lbs) fully fueled. The thing is, the SW80B is actually rated at 85 newtons, and is the same physical size and actually a little LIGHTER than my SW60B. In fact, it's only 2.5 ounces heavier than a Kingtech k45. And a guy can always throttle back. Every video I've seen of the HOT flying has been with a 70-85N turbine except for one or two. With the supplied 1.7 liter tank, one could get at least 6 minutes of flying time, and that's assuming the flight was at full throttle the whole time.
