Nice! So just over 1:1 thrust at take-off. Just how I like it!

That Scheme is SuperCool!! I might steal it from you when I order my Pro!! 😁

QUOTE=bodywerks;12585757]Those of you with Carf version 2M Rebel, can you weigh yours for me? Empty weight, full UAT. it might help me decide on a turbine for mine before I actually have it in my hand and assembled. I just placed a custom scheme order for the Classic through Ray. This scheme:

it has a 160 turbine migh that be the difference, and also who knows what size UAT and equipment it has... 🤷🏻‍♂️
i can weight mine with a 120 and a 100cc Uat from Fct next week in case if you still need the info, I dont run any pwr box or so, just 12ch rx, wireless switch and a cortex pro, 2 2600 jeti lion Batt and a 2100 mah liffe...

With Swiwin, the difference between the 120/140 and the 160/170 is only a half-pound. I'm KISS, also. Just Spektrum powersafe rx, no switch, no gyro, and three batteries total.

My buddy just finished a Carf version with a tuned down K-160. 24lbs on the nose, uat full. IMO, this is pretty light!
On a side note, his jet has quite the whistle in flight. does anyone else get the whistle?

Is it an airframe whistle or an engine whistle? If it's an engine whistle (usually heard at higher throttle) it may be too far from the pipe.

Funny you should say that, because on his first flights he had the end of the turbine exhaust 1.25" forward of the opening of the BELL of the tailpipe instead of the from where the actual tailpipe started. We were sure that was it. But the next day he moved the turbine back some 2 inches to be only about 3/4-1" from the start of the tailpipe, and the whistle was exactly the same in flight.
I'm pretty sure it is either an airframe whistle, or the servo arms he is using. They are Futaba, I believe, and the rudder one might be at just the right angle to cause a whistle with air passing through it:

Mine has an airframe whistle as well. It is common.

Well there you go. Some planes are whistlers and some are howlers

I think there is a delivery of these just into the US, sounds like perfect timing to get one built if there is some down time!

I added a Pro to my order as well, in the same custom MAX scheme that I posted earlier! Mine will be markedly over-powered, just like my rebel HOT is(16lb full take-off weight with an 85N turbine). Turbine will be somewhere in the 240-250N range

240-250 !!! thats way to much and don’t need it.... the Max’s arriving here will all be 210’s
I saw it at at JP and it had a 260 but never when abobe 75% of power, (my friend did the flights there) as you know this are super light... KT I heard is having a 220 very soon and for my Pro it would be just 180, I’ve flown a Pirotti on a P180 and was superb..
I’ll go with the new K180G4 that uses the same case of their k160G2 so it’s gonna be light...

My Rebel HOT with an 85, I don't find to be over-powered at all for my flying style, even at a 1.2:1 thrust to weight ratio at take-off. I also know how to use my left stick and do so, all the time.
The smallest turbine I would go with would be a 210, but I honestly know I will likely be disappointed in thrust performance, unless I can get TO weight to 40lbs - which, with smoke, I don't see happening. If the 240-250 that I am looking at ends up only being a pound or so heavier than the 210 while offering 10lbs more thrust, it's a no-brainer for me. I personally love the idea of not over-working a turbine. They stay happier for longer that way.
My Rebel classic is getting a 170 It's in my 2.2M predator right now and I find the power to be only 'satisfactory'...
I should also add that where I fly has a density altitude almost always above 5,000 feet, and nearing 10,000 feet in the summer, which may be factoring in on my personal taste as far as power goes.

Would it be possible for someone to snap a pic of the exhaust opening at the rear of the fuselage with a ruler showing the width?
I was wondering about EDFpossibillities.
Thanks, Jim

Would have thought the tiny inlets were more the issue.

I haven't been able to see one in person so maybe it is the issue, but perhaps there are ways to creatively add inlet air.
Schubeler likes to add NACA ducts, etc.
Usually the exit size is too small, so that's what I'd like to see 1st.

This is the largest thrust tube you would get in there. Mine is about 22lbs without fuel.

On the CARF Hawk I did with a DS-98 I shaped the outlet to get it as big as possible, it was slightly off round. You have a lot to play with there on outlet. It’s still how are you going to feed the fan!

Dave, I'd consider opening up one or 2 of the black squares on the fuse side ahead of the inlets (the black trim scheme) and also look at adding a NACA duct on the bottom.
I'd run a bell-mouth and no intake ducting (or perhaps very short ones from each side).
I don't know how much intake area there already is, so I don't know how much extra area is needed; (do you have one to measure?)
These are just some

ideas and may not be feasible.
I have the CARF Viperjet and marvel at the lightness and strength. Gotta be an EDF option on this one, somehow....

I almost threw mine through the ceiling it was so lite when I first took it out of the box expecting it to weigh as much as the T-One did.

Did you just get one? You didn't have it at Coachella. Mine should be here mid May. They are impressively light.

Ordered it right before Tucson. Had it done and ready to go to Tucson when I figured Tucson would be cancelled and headed home.

Been loving it. Sold the T-7 on the way there.
