Vin,

Yes they can do a Custom scheme for you or you can have the white/primmer and paint yourself. I do not know what the charge is for custom paint.

Yes, it's a split tank, the bottom is for Kerosene/Jet-A etc and the top one is for smoke. You can of course use both for extended flight times too.

Here is some video from the Coachella Jet Jam, you can see the tiny ACEx80 has more than enough power fly the T-33 and get some loops and vertical climb. Next up, swap the engine out for a ACEx140 before next weekend.

Chrisi
Our CG test flights have been done at 7 inches and 7.25 inches back at the leading edge of the wing, going back where the wing meets the fuselage. I have been flying it with the ACEx80 so far. I have the ACEx140 here to install on it, but all the COVID-19 kind of put a stop to all of our flying. Mike has been on lockdown in California and could could not make it out here in mid March for us to test it. We are also in lockdown in Arizona and even though it nearly started over here, we too have just been staying home. Once this epidemic slows down and we return to normal, we will get out and do some more flying.

One question more 🤔🤔😁 do you need downforce of elevator when you pull the flaps for landing max 80mm.
Thanks and greets chris

I just called Banana Hobby and Spoke to Ralph. I did not realize he is the one who started this thread and is flying the Thunderbird. He was a pleasure to talk with and answered all of my questions. The jets are not in Stock in the USA but will be coming in a shipment perhaps in the July time frame.

Just a small correction, the T-33, like many others jets, are for the most part built to order, those that order now can expect to get them in the July time frame. Mike usually likes to keep one or two on hand, but none are available now and the website will be updated with that information.

Sorry for the delay, I must have missed your post. We did not program any down elevator with flaps down because the Futaba 18MZ uses conditions. The three position switch has three flap settings. Normal = no flap use. Take Off = medium Flap and Landing = Maximum flap. Once you use each one time, you adjust your Aileron and Elevator as needed and it will remember that trim for each of the three conditions. I will however check to see how much down elevator was used via trim, I will be able to check tomorrow and get back to you.

Hi Guys,

does anyone fly the Bird with a 100N Turbine and what Flight Time do you get?
Are there options for more fuel capacity but still can keep the smoke option?

Regards,
Phil

Hi Phil I fly my beauty with a jets munt vt80. The flight time is round abaut 8 min with the fuel tank. I fly scale with T33 and didn't need only full throttel. The T Bird lives from the aerial image. Greets chris

Hey Chris,

thanks for your fast reply.
How is vertical power with the VT80?
I am thinking about a 100 because I also like to do some full throttle passes and want to keep as much flight time as possible without having to give up the smoke.
From the Turbine recommandations I thought it would be the good middle size.

Your right. Also for me is the best choice the 100 turbine. With the vt80 is almost enough power but when you like as you write fast passes and nice full power climbs that's your opinion the 100.it flies super bee with both. Greets chris

Hi Guys,

A Friend of mine and me just picked up our T33's and I have to say Quality is really good.
My Friend purchased an Intairco iTrap UAT for it and we dry fitted it on the Jet but noticed that with the cockpit we aren't able to put the canopy on as the cockpit does far down the to the fuselage.
We were both thinking how and where to install the UAT so that it works but didn't find any solutions now.
Does anyone use the iTrap and could tell me where you put it?

Regards,
Phil
