Default DreamWorks Elan Fuel Tank???

So here I am getting this Elan ready to fly after a decade. The guy I bought it from, oh so long ago, had a Kevlar looking Dreamworks main tank in it and a small hopper tank. The large Dreamworks tank has two, yes TWO fuel nipples on the front of it and two vents at the top. So I take out the one fuel nipple to replace the interior fuel line and low and behold I see that this tank is segregated, via a vertical wall, into a main tank (about 2/3 or 3/4 total volume) and a smaller volume (1/3 or 1/4). What the heck was it built like that for???? Was the small side intended as a smoke tank? Or something else??? Anyone know?

Thanks.

Thanks Dave. I think I will cut the tank open, Dremel out the divider, and glass it back together for one big fuel tank.

No need to cut that nice tank open, just plumb them as two separate tanks in series, works fine

If it’s the original Version with completely flat bottom the divider will fall out with a good knock! But like Reo says I have people who use the smaller section like a hopper tank.
