Default My next build - not a jet

I'm still working on the Mick Reeves Hawker Hunter, and I have a CARF Mig to build, but I wanted to get started on this and it looks like I'm going to have some time on my hands...

Its an AD-5 Skyraider - like my father flew in the Navy. Kellog plans and parts. I just finished cutting myself a "kit" - lots of parts...

It will fly great. Perfect size. I've had a Ziroli for a long time. It has no bad habits.

Classic airplane! I love all the rockets hanging under the wings too!

You might check with Ziroli, they have Charlie Kellog's plans for the TBM Avenger. They may be able to tell you if they have the AD-5 plans/parts, or if Charlie's family still has them available. I got mine from Charlie's family a year or so after he passed away.

Hey Bob,

How did you transfer the the plans to the wood for cutting? The parts look nicely cut. I am a big fan of See Temp, but am always looking for new tricks.

Joe,

Thanks! They are pretty good, I got better as I went along...

I had a buddy who works for the local power company copy the plans and then I cut up the copies into individual parts and used the spray contact cement stuff to stick them to the material to cut them out. I also tended to stay about 1/16 inch outside the outline and then used my benchtop belt sander to sand the parts right to the outline. Thus the outside outline on the parts is better looking than the inside, but soon, nobody will see that...

Bob
