Default Ruder & tail

Hello Again,

To instal tail formers, which also will build up ruder, I cut a large pice of 3mm birch plywood surrounded by by balsa wood, followed by balsa sheet of 1.5mm.
As I mentioned about Flaps& Ailerons, I don't want any horn or linkage to be seen out of fuselage, therefore, Ruder servo is installed and linked to rudder as can be seen in photo,

Javad - Where is my "KIT". Smile. What a very clean and professional build. Any plans of possibly kitting your Rhino? Chic

Hello Redtail,

It is not my intention to kit this model, But who knows, I lost my job due to Covid-19, :-)), for now I need to make it fly to see if it works,

Jc,
It is not Gorilla, however, its a "Polyurethane Adhesive". Compared to Gorilla, it benefits from lower viscosity, means easier to apply, hence less glue to use & lighter :-)),

Another useful place was to sheeting balsa on wings, where I needed to apply this glue on all ribs and spars, etc, then press balsa sheet, which I used magazines for pressing,

Default Balsa Sheeting& Planking (Fuselage),

Fuselage will be covered by 2.5mm balsa, sheet and Planking,

As I assume, F-4 would be tail heavy, I will reinforce nose, so I can locate battery and air tank etc, Hoooooppppiiiiinnnnnggggg to avoid lead on nose :-),

Default Fuselage Nose,

Hello guys,

To make nose,
  1. I made a double round former which are both drilled and pined with 6mm carbon rod, one side glued and the other side free.
  2. A 10mm hardwood dowel drilled 3mm and glued into a balsa block, to shape the head of nose.
  3. A 3mm tee nuts installed on small round plywood which is glued to tray,
  4. Planking followed, gluing balsa little nose to outer round former,
  5. once planking is completed, opening 3mm socket cap head screw, released the hole nose,

As a scratch builder this thread is very interesting, watching keenly!

Interested to see how the rear engine/CG situation works out.

Hello Alistair,

I really like US Navy, Grey&Black top and Cream belly, however, camo would be nice and easier, not decided yet,

Hello Chic,

It is kind of you,

Honestly, it is more difficult than I was expecting, too many changes in curve, luckily I have many formers to make the shape, :-))

My plan is not to make it as kit, and I can't even suggest it to anyone, it needs to be tested and I hope It will fly nice,

CG would be a challenge with two turbine on rear fuse,

Thanks,
Javad,
