To use the TX to turn on the RX, you need to purchase a R3/RSW 3 channel RX. There is no fully integrated RC switch unless you get the R3/RSW. It plugs into the switch socket on the CB200 (and certain other RX).

The REX dipole antennas have a longer lead than the non-dipole antennas, so you can get better antenna diversity by separating them more. They also have a base load or something similar at the end which is supposed to improve their overall performance, but I don't know the details.

I assume that you can simply use a regular switch if you want to? Like a JR or Futaba switch harness/charge jack?

Two EX R12 2.4 GHz RXs (with dipole ant)
One EX R3 900 MHz RX
One CB210

Why is the dipole antenna better? And if it is, why don't all of their RXs use dipoles?
I guess I do not need a mag switch as I can either use the integrated R/C switch (turn on/off from the TX) or simply use old JR/Futaba/MPX/Kraft switch harness, right? I am heavily leaning towards Jeti, as you can tell. Thanks for the inputs.
Two REX 12 is unnecessary and expensive. In Europe we use two RSAT or two REX 3, I believe that your USA importer does not get the Rsat so you use REX 3 as a minimum. If you want a central box, there are several options, the cb200/210/220 will give you 13 to 15 servo sockets, no voltage regulation. 13 to 15 because you may have to use sockets 14 and or 15 for telemetry sensors.
If you need more servo sockets without going to the next step of a CB400, you can use the Digitech 2+2 Extender which is very cheap, gives you 4 more servo sockets but will use one of the CB200 servo/expander sockets thus giving you a net increase of 3 sockets. They can be daisy chained to give more sockets.

To each their own. Itís about $112 difference in two REX12ís versus two REX3ís. Thatís cheap insurance when flying turbines ... even if there is a chance that the antennas are better in my opinion its $112 well invested. There are numerous reports that REX12ís antennas offer better reception than REX3ís ... in most environments the REX3ís are just great ... in challenging 2.4GHz environments the REX12ís are reportedly superior. In the end everyone has to carefully consider the system and setup that they are confident in when they walk up to the flight line.

woketman,

you can achieve the same with 2 R3ís. Much simpler and cheaper. Jeti sells them as a combo

i know peoplw like to put an R12, but i really have not found a reason to

I do have an airplane with an R12 as primary and an R3 as secondary (bvm mig15). I have studied the telemetries extensively and i see no difference at all between the two

i would go: CB200 and 2xR3ís.
and the choice to add the 900mhz is personal, but it depends a lot on the type of field you fly at. I fly out in the woods and donít need it. But more urban fields where there is a lot of 2.4 noise, it seems
to be a very useful backup (peopme flying in LA swear by it)

i have a DS16, so not even a choice for me, but i have not had the first signal interuption in 100ís of flights (same with my buddies)

Hope this helps
jack

Woketman, you may remember that I was a great enthusiast of the Multiplex 4000. I changed to Jeti about 6 years ago and though it still doesn't quite match the 4000's raw ability to program what the servos do, it is an excellent system which Jeti keeps improving for free. Take a look at my youtube channel for vids on how to get started for Jeti newbies, how to set up telemetry and logging, advanced programming etc.

Thanks jsnipes. I have run out of ideas so I am open to requests for any Jeti programming topics that people want to see

Harry’s video was able to explain the meaning and use of the mysterious “LOGMAX” in order to make butterfly work for flaps in a way that even I understood. That in itself is 1) a miracle and 2) worthy of praise! LOL!

Hello Harry C!

Me and my Jeti friends here in Sweden are big fans of your videos. You have been of tremendous help. I think you have covered most of the topics I can think of. However there are a few things that maybe you have something to say on. One is the use of the 900 mHz receiver and what the difference is to the new 900 mHz NG receiver, if you have any idea.

The other topic is the combinations of the jeti system and the Powerbox Mercury witch some of us use instead of CB. Are there any smart things to think about in this setup?

Sorry Jannica, I cannot help with either of those. I have a DS-16 which does not have the 900 mhz module, and I do not use any Powerboxes, only Jeti CBs.

In the next week or two I will be publishing videos about Jeti and Cortex Pro gyro, and the entire programming from the start of a CARF Eurosport

OK, I successfully updated the TX software to the latest, 5.03 or 5.30. Having a rough time pairing the TX with a 7 ch RX. I got one module paired (only one check mark on upper left of screen) but can't get two checks. I tried default and dual path. No luck. Bedtime for this Luddite , I mean Jetiite.....
