Default Elvington Model Flyers Weekend 08/09 August

Elvington Model Flyers hosted a superb weekend event at their Elvington site, all this whilst observing social distancing due to Covid 19

A big thank you to Martin and Ian and their team

I will post a few photographs of the event

It's a welcome site to see an event happen in these trying times. We all get to live vicariously through your photos. Thanks for posting them.

Fabulous weekend. The daily briefing was much longer than normal with the C-19 precautions devised. It worked really well.
Did a tonne of flying with my Mephisto, CARF Hawk and Ultra Flash. I even managed three test flights yesterday, JL Yak 130, JetLegend Hawk and a re test flight on a customers Mephisto with a change of radio...checking the Aileron direction will be a prime check again as the circuit and landing with reversed ailerons was a little stressful 😉 Ben has promised to meet my bar bill from now on 😁

Roll on the next one!

A few more from Sunday, again Martin and his team gave a comprehensive briefing on the need for social distancing in light of COVID 19,
E.M.F. Had arranged the toilet facilities to take in to account the present precautions.
All attendees had registered with full contact information.
This does demonstrate it is possible to safely hold a public flying event if all precautions are followed.
Another enjoyable day, not so much sunshine, although it was warm and dry.

On behalf of the Elvington Model Flying club I want to thank all who came and supported us. There is nothing worse than organising an event to find that no one attends. This year we had the biggest 3 day event in our history and the weather arrived as ordered!
Despite doubting voices who claimed it was against Covid 19 rules, it wasn't. We can read! One thing we have in spades is space and you will see from the pictures that we used that space to keep people safe. We are grateful that we had no incidents at all. Everyone behaved as you would expect sensible adults to, given the current circumstances. With 46 jets in the hangar Saturday evening and more in cars and campers we had the largest number of models & pilots ever. Actually we had a ball!
Thanks to Dave Wiltshire for having faith in us and providing sponsorship. Thanks to Martin, Ian, Denis, Paul and Jim for the hard work to make it happen.
Roll on October.
John

Some cracking photos.
I was only there on the Saturday with my Mick Reeves super reaper (pictured in one of the photos) and had a great day and a couple of decent flights.
Huge thank you to the organisers.

yes mate, I was there on the Saturday only.
Had 2 flights with the super reaper and the rest of the time I was either spotting for a few pilots or chatting.
was a brilliant day.
