I think Iím going to use the 5 in 1 unit all in one module from air power or the new hsd model , I have a air problem with my other rafale but this was the retracts seals , they new + Iím using the silicone rc cars shocks thicker oil to condition the seals , this usually works great and prevent the seals to dry out.

One question, how the rafale fly with those big external tanks? Do the cg or flight characteristics change much ?

The wing tanks provide a little bit of lift and so youíll find yourself adding down elevator inflight. No CG change

Just don't drop them... As Buck say/s they create lift. If you drop them, they hit the wings. If I remember correctly, Terry Nitsch lost his that way (tank got stuck on the missile rails)

Yup. I was surprised how much additional down elevator I had to add compared to a clean Wing. I never dropped mine as i
didnít want to risk what happened To
Terry.

On my white one I have remote drop but never have a chance to fly with the tanks and try to drop them, this one will have them on the sold skew type hold or maybe just the center drop tank like Jim on his top gun yellow rafale, maybe they need to have a nose weight and drop them with a lots of positive G ?

Just some body work to make it look better, the better paint job after some flying just donít want to invest the time and money at this moment some flying before the final finish.

Looking good Sebastian, I'm paying attention to your rebuild since I will start my own rebuild of a Fei-Bao F-15 1/9 in Feb, I'm also getting a good deal on the F-15 but, it needs a bit more work but not impossible to get her back to flying status.

Everything is possible just make it light and step by step do not rush , this will be a great flying f-15 , for the wings use thin balsa to shape and connect the elements and cover it with finding fiberglass and epoxy do not use styrofoam because it has tendency to absorb more epoxy than needed , this will make the model heavier, the fuselage use tape from the top and lay the fiberglass or carbon from inside very small pieces donít try to fit big elements of carbon or fiberglass itís very hard to control them and wipe the excess of epoxy, best to use the plumber small soldering brushes they like $5 for like 25 of those at Home Depot

Good to know, thanks!

I will get a used in good conditions set of wings, that will take care of the wings, the only airfoil I will have to worry is the Right vertical stab, I'm planning to post a wanted add on RCG for a used one, may get lucky, I will only have to warry about the fuse.

So I have some time and have the rudder to work, need to change some geometry with those push rots and some little stuff to make it work good, Do you guys know if those servos are good? Most of the time I was using something like 8711 8611 and 8411 but those are something new to me.

Looking good. Am I the only one not using the supplied mounting grommets with servos? I used them all my life on prop planes, when I started flying jets I was advised not to use them. I was told there is little to no vibration and it is best to forgo them to avoid slop. Thoughts?

They fit so tight in the cut out boxes that they donít move, mos of my jets donít have them but this one has ok design and those rubbers are so hard they almost donít move .

So after long summer I decided to start with the rafale and this is what I did today, some forms that needed to be scratch made.

So finally finished the front retracts formers with carbonfiber tow for extra reinforcements this is very weak spot at least with the original balsa carbonfiber skin reinforced elements, maybe the plywood is going to work better?
