Default jet cat 300 pro or KT g4 320

Hi,
Looking for some owners of these turbines. I read about some trouble with older p300s, I don't know about more recent ones...The KT g4 320 - have not read much about it yet.
This will be for an approx 30kg project.
Thanks in advance for any real life data.
Dave

Hey Dave,

P300PRO all the way.

The comment is - UNBELIEVABLE.

The PRO engines are a huge leap in technology and really a beast. Huge power, acceleration, but the best feature is the onboard charging.

I've got the GL version with the generator which charges all onboard batteries. I fly all day - UNLIMITED flights - no limitation on battery - no need to change or charge the batteries.

Here's a snapshot of the telemetry data from any random flight. See how the batt voltage for both Powerbox batteries (V-BATT) stay fully charged while the engine battery charges (BattCapa) as well during a 7min flight.

A huge leap - no words can describe it.

See here the flight, if you notice, I'm taking off with around 60-70% throttle:

Good luck, all the best from Dubai.

Tassos

Dave,
I have a K320 G2 and it has been awesome. There were a lot of problems with the early P300's but the guy's that are running the newer PRO and love them. I don't like the new G4's from Kingtech, I have 2 and both have been back for starter issues. I have my 320 G2 up for sale with only 125 min if you are interested? Just PM Me

Thanks Michael

Have 4X G2 k320's and 2X P400. I run diesel with kt oil in all of them. no experince with the P300's.
No issues with either of them.

I prefer KT mainly because of the fast spoolup (idle to full throttle) - 3 seconds on my KT320's. Also some added benefits of the auto restart feature (comes in real handy when stressing airframes with tons of aerobatics on low fuel), simple to understand GSU and easy adjustments. KT GSU graphs are also nice. Is P400 spoolup (idle to full throttle) is 8 seconds - ugg!

I have 2 K-320G2s for a year. Both have been flawless. I moved up from BF300 to K-320 and it was a major change in thrust output. I have no experience with Jetcat since 2013 when I got rid of my last one.

Most of the Mephisto models hovering in the U.K. have JetCat P-300Pro turbines. Various run amounts, some in the 100’s of flights. I think you should just go with the one you feel comfortable with. When the other 300N turbines were struggling to actually produce 300N the JetCat was tested at over 300N and the turbine is still produced with minor updates as JetCat learn from the ‘abuse’ Mephisto type flying gives the turbine. Others are on their 2nd/3rd attempt at that size turbine.
You could also consider the new P-250Pro-S turbine if you don’t need the full 300N. Test coming soon in RCJi

Just to add a notice , jet cat 300’s and 400’s are used by the thousands on various military and GA civilian applications for a certain reason no doubt . I’ll put my faith in that everyday

There is supposedly some guy in Florida trying to sell 4 JetCat P400RX-G turbines on an Australian RC model classified site.

Is a V12 ECU upgrade possible to get auto-restart? Any down sides?

K320 all the way. We've been running the G2's for a while in Mephisto's with no issues.

In the states, the price on a K320 is nearly half as much as a 300 Pro, the KT makes more power, runs on diesel - which is $1 a gallon cheaper and easy to get anywhere and support/service is fantastic... (Jet A/Kero is hard to find in the South and expensive) Also the normal service is 25 hours and is fixed at $300 I believe... and know many people that have had the service done without any issues.

The VSpeak telemetry adapter is great as well... $60 from Aeropanda... shows everything.

We just had an F3S contest in South Georgia last weekend, with 8 pilots from FL to NC... all 8 pilots flew Kingtechs... 210's, 260's or 320's... not one failed start or flame out... zero issues.

Hello together,

for security reason I would prefer the JetCat solution because of ECU galvanic separation. Kintech doesn`t have that.

I had a P220 and two P100's... and it was a mixed answer in the US about running diesel.

What about the Swiwin (ACEx) 300? I have a 170 I haven't flown yet but I have seen a bunch of guys with success here in Denver with the high altitude. We really have high density altitude in the summer.
