My friend has just purchased a large boomerang style jet and is looking for some information on this unidentified engine. Does it look farmiliar to anyone?

It has 6 hocky stick type injectors in the combustor

It was originally air start however these have been blanked off and a motor fitted

Oil feed to both bearings

After market Xicoy ECU

Only indentifiers on the engine is "NL-2201"

Thanks for the fast response Dave,

Looking at the modern offering I would agree. I shall pass on the information to my friend for him to investigate further.

Not that it matters but that's a Simjet Starter. Its also had the AMT proximity sensor hacked off and a early Xicoy RPM pickup put in its place. Must have also had a magnet fitted in the compressor nut. Although AMT's are the most bulletproof engines ever made it's pretty much worthless these days..

Further information has been recieved from AMT. This turbine was manufactured in 2002, producing 14.5kg thrust at 115,00 RPM. My friend has many turbines and built several KJ66 engines over the years. He is checking everything over and then going to test run the engine. I will let you know how he gets on.

Your friend will no doubt find it very impressive - like all AMT's it will last another 20 years no problem. The value of AMT is that they are keepers and can simply be used from one model to the next with total confidence. If you ever need any factory service or advice, AMT is always ready to assist.
