C/F thats a good Ideal.I have to say ive never had any troubles with this c/f rods.im using purpose buit rods of course. but it never hurts to be redundent.
So ive run into my first major screw up with starting this company . I put all my eggs in one basket with the landing gear. and the guy just basically took my money, lol
So I was try to keep everything that i needed to source right here at home.I wanted to limit sending my funds overseas as much as possible.long story short i hooked up with the owner of sierra precision ( Darrell ) . hauled five planes up to his shop. he gave me a song and dance about what he could do. mind you most of the sport jet landing gear would have been stock items. the panther being the only custom built gear. gave me a time line of one month to have a set of gear for the panther..keep in mind he makes a ziroli panther gear that just needed mods. to work with mine. lets just say 6 months later all i got box of junk that dont work together. he actually screens his phone calls. and has had every excuse in the book. so if you didnt know now you know. this is totally unacceptable bussiness practices. I will just chalk the little money up as a lost. as its not enough to even waist my time in small claims court. Ive done some investigating a found that this is common practice with this guy. youve been warned. Paul

moving on. the problem for the gear has been solved. there we be options for air and electric set ups .Lets also talk about some of the overseas companies . ive been in contact with a couple of the big time companies in the r/c jet market . lets just say they wont sell any parts to an American based company . one even sited that they dont need the competition in America. I was really struck by this. Think about that!!!! with all that being said im navigating shortages of all sorts . companies here at home have backorders on just about everything being machined. Next month I will do a limited run of each plane .if anyone is interested in getting a winter project send me a message and i will give you my number and we can talk it over, keep in mind the new versions should be out by summer next year. I will post some pics all the promo. plane are ready for the paint shop. minus the f100. a lil work left to do with it. Thanks

My Feedback: (23)

Looks good.. but the layup schedule needs some work on the exterior parts. There is alot of fabric print through, which judging by how coarse and loose of the fabric it appears you are using, isn't a surprise. If it were me, i would go with a layer of 1.4oz style 1080 glass cloth for the initial layer. That'll eliminate alot of the print through issues.

I copy that invertmast. in all fairness i see what your talking about with those layups. long story short all the planes in the thread are test subjects. when it came to layups and composite materials. I tested several different things with a host of factors involved also note that during this process it was a nightmare to secure large quantities of some products. most of everthing in the pictures were produced with cloth i had laying around. i have since stocked rolls of cloth. I agee 100 percent with you. i have since settle the layup schedule for the different layups and so far so good. will contiue to post pics as i go.

Great to see the CAI line again! I owned a Raptor, Predator, and Panther. The Predator is still flying, and I love it! Can hardly wait to everything at events again!

So I’ve updated the predator wing . Made a few changes. The changes required a new set of wing molds. Decided to to update the ailerons to a live hinge setup , kept the split flaps .the biggest change was moving to a two piece wing. The first wing out of the mold has showed a significant weight saving as well . I believe this is all contributed to the modern day composites that are available . I didnt change the primary internal structure so the new wings can be used on any old airframe that may be out there . I will upload pics .
