Thank you, this is not very common jet and all the help will be very useful to make less stressful maiden flight, I’m currently looking for two 100 size turbines possible used for bargain price, the jet was not brand new and needed to have slight repairs to the nose section because of one turbine flame out on takeoff and cost the jet to roll to one side and hit the grassy area.

Sounds like Andy's old jet. I've seen it fly several times. Always a thrill and looks very cool. An RC technical achievement for sure. Post photos as you go along. I can't help any but best of luck with the project.

Yep, it's Andy's.
Definitely post some pics, would love to see how the repairs are coming along. I know nothing of the setup but out of curiosity why not use the setup/program Andy had in it with the Cortex gyros?

So this is the pictures, I don’t have the pictures from before the repairs, but the plywood formers are new and some skin elements added from carf eurofighter to make it strong straight and light have been used special bondo to repair full scale compost airplanes and plastic materials,

Trying my best, the worst thing to make it was the plywood formers and keep it all alignment with the remaining led and the nose to not end up too low or too high, the body is just skin and this could be formed to shape, for now I’m just trying to make it air worthy and maybe later after possible success some more details to make it look more realistic.

The most important thing to set up correctly is the drag rudder and gyro set up. It pretty much needs its own gyro.
it’s been along time since I built the one for Barry but I remember that part. It had 2 cortex gyros and then the gyro on the brakes and steering.
We had ours doing barrel rolls and it was a joy to fly after the set up was correct. But boy the first flight was scary as hell.
tge weird part about this plane is it will fly around just fine side ways. You need to be using the rudder at all times. Also plane acts funny when gear doors are open.

So I’m fighting with the jettronics sequence gizmo and officially this is the most difficult thing to figure, I was able to program this thing more than 3 times the correct way I want it to work and when I just wanted to maybe delay one function like the gear door this thing goes stupid and needs to be programmed again, who design this thing and charge so much money for it, I have one from hobby king before for only $12 and after the first prog this thing stays solid and is very easy to setup with electronic number screen, will try tomorrow again and again and maybe I’m not going to jump on it or use my hammer

I’m not sure but I was told that I’m able to set totally different settings for the spektrum 3000 gyro like 10-15% gain for alieron and elevators and 100% for the rudders and even separate the string servo to separate gains and have it off when gear is up , is this possible? Please let me know because this is what I’m planning to use in this jet thank you

So I got the retracts and gear doors to work with the jettroncs sequencer , they instructions should say that use the G3 slot for the gear doors that opens and close after each gear rotation and G1or G2 for whatever gear door that you’re waiting to close after each gear rotation,

For sure right before the first flight I’m going to setup the jet with Ali and guys from horizon, I have two cortex and I have the I-gyro , optera and spektrum to choose from , but I was told that the spektrum is able to do lots of modes with one gyro and is not passive like some other ones so more channels are available to setup, for sure I will check them all and choose the best one , for now I’m looking for smaller turbines like 80-100 with modern size and weight, I noticed something very interested that the full scale B2 using the center elevator as a flap and goes down on landing but this is full scale one with one million dollar control computer .

Ok so after long waiting I finally got two small turbines the sw80b and maybe that’s what I’m going to it, the secondary choice is to use two jetcat p-100rx - stronger but much heavier, so the spektrum gyro is no go probably the two cortex , did you guys make the clams shell rudders as a head look setup or regular with lots of gain , I’m wondering if would be possible to have them open more for landing as a drag spoilers with maybe 20-30% more open than regular rudders, let me know what you guys think.
