Default Sportsjet for VT80

Dear fellow flyers,

i have a 2m-span, wooden copy-of-Shockjet jet trainer that has reached the ultimate end of its life.
Unlike the frame is the VT-80 with 17 hours still full of life and needs a new home.

I have checked towards CARF Joker or alternatively Rookie, leaning toward Joker anyway.
Allready flying xcalibur classic 1.8 and bulding rebel hot.

Any good recommendations around for an all-rounder, sporty, easy-to-fly airframe for grass field operations that i dont know about ?

thank you!

Hi,
I would recommend you Shadow from MIBO JETS, Slovenia. Shadow is really nice looking plane which is capable of doing some really fast flying and also "F3A aerobatics". The build quality on Shadow is perfect like all planes from MIBO.

Regards Stempi

Mibo makes nice models. I have their Swift and I'm very happy with it.
This jet is very expensive for its size @ $3200 shipped.

I think the price of Shadow is in the same range as other planes in its size.
I am attaching price list which i got from Mibo few weeks ago. Prices outside EU are without VAT. That means Shadow ARF is about the same price as Carf Joker ARF.

The only place I found it was at RPM Jets and they want $2550 + $750 for shipping. Gear was another $500 and a pipe adds $150 or so.
Buying direct from Mibo would be better, but I would guess the shipping costs will still be about $700.

The OP is in the same country as Mibo. So since this thread is about him and not a US guy he has a choice. Companies like CARF carry shipping costs by shipping big containers full of stuff. If container shipping continues at the present lever we will see a price hike throughout the hobby…

I can highly recommend the Joker. It flys superbly, fast and slow. Couldn’t really want much more to be honest.

I find that the Sebart/Krill Ares and the Shadow share similarities. At least in my eyes they look similar.
