Default K45 and Freewing T45

Hi everyone!
I am new here and writing from Italy for a quick question about my latest faomy conversion of the freewing T45.
I'll be fitting the plane with a K45G4 and hab.se conversion kit. I am willing to get a little bigger capacity fuel tank and in this case the starter motor plastic case will just touch the back side of the tank. Anyone that could advise if this will possibly be causing any issues?

Best regards,

Max

If it touches, with movement, takeoff / landing it will push harder against it and cause you issues in the long run.

can you heat up the tank to deform it and create a pocket for the starter so they do not touch? what part of italy?

Can you take some photos?

I am working slowly on T45 too, moving turbine forward while being able to use big printed tank from keith (thingiverse)

Since hab kit has turbine placed even more forward, I had to adjust holders to fit.

Will do that, if I can I'll post those tomorrow! What a great job there. The turbine holder is much batter than the hab one from what I can see! Very nice job!

Sorry for thread drift, but Keith's tanks are out of this world. I too have done a Mig-21, The tank fits like a glove. I have no idea how he got almost 1L of fuel in that tiny space.

Most of Keith's files are on Thingiverse.com

Search for "Yellowbird911"

What an amazing job! I had to stop the project but planning to go ahead over Xmas period! Would you mind sharing the 3d printer project for the turbine support?!

hi, no problem,

but I ditched that solution and went for a simple wooden rails and EDF position.
so tube is also shorter and less heat inside model, no need for insualtion at all.

will search for those 3D files and post them here, no worry, you might alter some parts a bit for a final fit.

JP braked wheels should fit same like they do on avanti/mig21 ....

remembered somewhere Henke said edf seems fast until you put a turbine in,
compared my t45 to a EDF mig21, I flew 40% throttle , fuel for 14 minutes, and mig had to go down after 3min... amazing
