Default Gloster Meteor F8 1.5/8 scale

Hi all,

The Meteor has long been a favourite aeroplane of mine and I have always wanted a RC model of one. I never dreamed of a twin turbine version until I cam across a plan from a chap in the US who had designed and kitted a smaller EDF version. The outline looked really good and I contacted him to see if he would enlarge the plans to the scale I wanted to match my Vampire model.

He agreed and the plans were printed and posted across the Atlantic to me. That was back in 2014 ish. I made a small start on it back then purchasing wood and jet pipes. The project stalled for may reasons, but last year I decided it was time to actual start again and get this model flying.
The plan actually has the twin seat canopy but I will be changing it for the single seat F8 canopy.

So far I probably have about 50% of the parts cut, both jet engine (Jetcat P60's) which are gas start at the moment but will be getting converted to zero start before they are fitted. Plus one P60 is currently in a Supermarine Swift. I have both jet pipes and a lot of the hardware including the fuel tank which came from Jet Tech. The quality of the tank is amazing and I have had twin feeds from one which I thought made the most sense.

The next task is to decide on the retracts and oleo's and then I can continue to work on the mounts to make sure they are correct and everything will fit.

There is another Meteor build on here and the owner has kindly shared some photos of his oleo's and they are on a very similar line to what and how I was thinking of doing them.

Hopefully this will be finished and flown next year but in the meantime I have purchased a Dynam Meteor which is ticking the box for now :-)
