Default Servos twitching

Hi all has anyone seen this before it’s a new build jeti ds16 with a rex 10 and a cortex gyro running Mc Gregor MG2611WHV ,when the turbine x45 gets to a certain rpm the rudder starts twitching if I increase power it goes,I haven’t plugged the other servos in as yet can’t say if it’s on all surfaces

This issue is caused by acoustic noise from the turbine being picked up by the Gyro. The remedy is to build a soundproof box around the Gyro. We have one available now specifically for a Cortex Pro.

I had this issue before with no gyro installed. Definitely acoustic noise from the turbine never got to the bottom of it. It would stop when increased power.

We need one specifically for the Assist RXs.

Can you post a picture of your install? Is your gyro next to the ECU or is it next to a RX or anything else that can generate noise. In my installs I try to get these components separated from one another.

Just food for thought.

You could try installing a noise choke on that line.

Guys….the cause of this is noise from the turbine. Not servos or where the gyro is mounted. This phenomenon has been observed since mems type, gyros started being installed in turbine model aircraft. It can affect every manufacturers gyro system. It can be caused by any manufacturers turbine. The solution is shield the gyro from the noise.

If you are not married to the Cortex, the Smoothflight SF16 latest version has a turbine filter that eliminates the unwanted servo movements caused by turbine noise. It has off, low, medium, and high filter settings.
Thanks,
Tone
