Default OS-9B Carb on Rossi 91

Anybody ever adapt a OS-9B carb to a Rossi 91 ducted fan engine?
Do you still need another head shim when using Wildcat 5% ?
Anybody have a good OS-9B they want to sell??
THANKS, TOM

IMHO the OS-9B carb is the best available for .60 to .90 sized ducted fan engines. If you can custom fit it to the Rossi .91 rear drum then give it a try. You won't be disappointed.

BTW, I have a brand new 9B I could part with. Just PM me for a pic...

I did a carb adapter for this purpose on a lathe and mill combination machine which i was storing in my shop for awhile for a buddy who was moving. I made two of them, and the Rossi ran like a top with 9B. I wish I had saved the dimesions and drawings for you, but I can tell that with the JMP os 91 tuned pipe and the 9B the engine was very impressive. You won't be disappointed.

I ran two of the Rossi 91's in a Byron F15 using the 6B carb. I had heard of the fantastic performance of these engines with the OS carb. Quite frankly I noticed little if any gain using the carbs. The one engine still leaned out in flight and they both died on take off on the last flight. For some reason the Rossi engines were a pain in the butt for most everyone. Thank goodness for the OS 91.

I have a couple of adapters in a drawer that you can have if you want to try the carb deal. I think I think I also have a 6B carb that I will sell cheap. PM me if you are interested.

My Rossi engines were run with an OS carb. Not sure if it was the 9B or not. Did not use the 6B as stated in the last post. Have a bunch of adaptors that were made for the carb. Sorry for the confusion

Well, the throat ID of the 6b carb is only 10 mm if I recall correctly thus too small for the Rossi .91.

The 9b is bulletproof for Ducted Fan application. Throat ID is 12 mm. Center to center distance between the two mounting screws is 31 mm.

jcw111, maybe one of your adapters fits the 9b carb which is shown below
