Default Ultimate Scale Jet

Here you go - for those that have always wanted the ultimate in true scale performance and I'm sure she's worth every penny being asked for her.

I contacted the owner and made my final offer... Piper Cherokee 180 and $100 cash. We must have had a bad connection because I heard what sounded like static and laughter then the line dropped us! I will try back again later...

Go for it Todd. You can take us all for a ride when she's yours.

I wonder if this is the one that has done the flybys the last 2 years at Heart of Ohio since that one was supposed to be the only flightworthy F-100 in existence?

Steve,

About 2 months ago we where offered a flightworthy F-100 as part of a trade on a Gulfstream III where selling, it was different from that F-100 above. These jets go from anywhere from $200K-500K, the problem is there is not alot of interest out there, and again with the one above it has been for sale, for quite some time. Most people who have an interest in these type of Jets, rather buy a F-86, where they can be bought very cheap. My guess is the one you see for sale is different from the one you saw at the Flyby.

there were quite a few f-100,s in flight worthy condition and flying about 10 or 15 years ago. . they were being taken out of bone-yard mothballs, reconditioned, set up for radio control and used as training practice targets. they were shot at with missiles without warheads, which would sometimes go thru a wing making a nice hole but not crash them, until they got in too bad of condition to land or repair, then they were hit by the training instructor with an armed missile to keep from messing up a runway. the reconditioning company was next door to rutan,s shop. they had photo,s and nick-names or numbers of the birds that had the most hits without crashing, on the wall of the break room. i was fortunate to be working out there on something else and witnessed a few test flights of them by an older, really cool gent, test pilot who would climb in them and take them straight up almost out of sight. i could barely see it as he would nose it over, then there was a big poof of smoke as he opened it up heading straight down. a few seconds later, BOOOOOOMMMM, it would break the sound barrier. what a cool job. the refurbishing and test flights were all done by civilian contracts... unless they shot them all down ,or used them all up ,or quit using them, i,d think there,s more than one left flyable. maybe it,s the only civilian owned.
