What do you think?

As someone that has dumped Futaba in the last year and switched to JR then it would be easy for me to jump on the bandwagon and have a pop at Futaba. Also Microsoft products are very unpopular with myself from a professional standpoint, so you'd think that I would keen to stick the boot in on Futaba's 14MZ. Not so.
All this stuff going around about "blue screen of death" is complete and utter nonsense. Anyone that works with embedded systems will tell you that the product that runs on your home PC has very little in common with it's embedded cousins. Not only that, you're not being fair and comparing like-for-like operating environments. A PC is open to all manner of abuse and attack whereas an embedded system is not, not only that but embedded systems do not store or execute unnessary code as they are very "lightweight" systems that tend to run on completely different architecture from your regular Wintel platform. No only that, but I suspect that Windows merely the interface and has no other influence on the rest of the TX system.
Anyone that pipes up with the "blue screen of death" nonsense is simply demonstrating that they haven't got a clue as to what they're talking about. I like to kick MS as much as the next person but only when I've got a valid argument.

Well said. I though that everyone knew by now that the BSOD wouldn't happen. In fact IFLYBVM1 if you bothered to read through the sodding website in the first place there's quite an in-depth explanation of how Futaba have implemented Windows CE.
Input for general operating tasks — such as set-up and programming — is processed by Windows CE.

I believe this is like going from the 8 track to DVD. That is how big a jump in technology it is. What the future holds is anyone's guess a this point, but this latest technology upgrade is simply wonderful.
