Jonathan,
If you need an easy fix, just swap the Jet 1A nose strut for a Robart strut, keep the Jet 1A retract unit. There is a picture in one of my earlier posts.

RE: new Arf Boomerang 14lb thrust
As much as i love the Intro, i have purchased the new pro-Lynx retract set from Digitech which fitted very nicely to replace the Spring Air HD101 set i had.
On same occasion, thought of adding more power and possibly some smoke to my BI, therefore, i was looking into fitting a P-70 Kero start to replace the existing P-60.
I know that a few people have installed P-80's but has anyone tryed the P-70? What mods should be done accordingly and what about CG bearing in mind that nose retract is now located up front and retracts backwards.
Thanks for your help and photos if possible.
Regards.

I fly with a P70, which is in my opinion the best combo with a Boomer (can only talk about JtCat Though) We also have a Boomer with the P80 flying, but lots of butchering needed to fit that one
For the P70 no real changes are needed other than making sure it does not touch the bottom so you need to remove some material from the formers under the engine, not much just a little.
Cheers,
Mick.

Thanks for the reply, I have also noticed that P-70 brackets do not fit in place, did you trim the wood or mount to have it fit. What about CG have you been able to cheive without adding weight in the nose?
Do you have any photo of your installation?
Thanks. Regards.

I flew mine with a P-80 and then changed to a Bee. I could tell little difference except on fuel use. I think the added thrust of the P-80 is offset by it's higher weight. And the Bee has much faster throttle response. Bob

I feel a bit cheated as the Intro's were being sold on offer as part of a '1000 kits sold' promotion. If I had known that they were really being offloaded in readiness for a new model then I may have waited[]

Hi,
Just a quick question where do you guys locate the vent line from the fuel tank .Do you go straight out of the bottom of the fuselage and if so is there any chance of picking up
dirt into the fuel system during ground operations ( taxi or takeoff) particulaly on grass.
I also want to be able to have a startup tank connected for initial startup so I guess I will have to use a festo fitting .
Cheers Hawkflyer

Straight out the bottom for me. 230 flights and no clogged filters or junk in the tank. I think you'll be safe unless you let it drag the ground!

Mine goes out the side. I dont like the idea of a gear up landing and the vent tearing up the bottom of the fuse. plus its easy to hook up an overflow. But I have had to use on with my big-o Jet Tech 88Ozer.... 8.5 min flights (super bee) and landing with a good 1/4 tank left...

I run the overflow all the way to the back so it exits under the rear fuselage former.
That way when carrying the model nose up or nose down full of fuel, as we sometimes have to do at meetings etc., it doesn't run out over my trousers and shoes!!!!!.

RE: new Arf Boomerang 14lb thrust
Thanks
It seems there are as many options as there are engine / radio choices. I think I will just go the simplest choice straight out the bottom in the middle just in front of the tank.
Planning on putting the new Jet cental rabbit in it and turning it down to about 16Ibs thrust.

Hi Guys,
After alittle advice on what the incidence on my baby Booma should be.
After completing the test flight, I found that a needed a reasonable amount of up elevator to maintain straight and level flight.
Checked the C/G and its spot on- but I've just checked the incidence, and it appears that the the wing is set to "0" when the stabilizer is sitting on Positive "2"
is this correct?
Cheers

RE: new Arf Boomerang 14lb thrust
Hi guys.
I've been flying my Boomer Intro for a while now on a fairly small grass patch.
I noticed the other day in a NO wind situation the model was running in a bit faster than normal even with full flap.
I know the Elan and XL benefit from crow braking but does the Baby B also benefit?
If so can anyone give me an idea on the Aileron up amounts?
With normal flap use the elevator has around 15% down mix to prevent pitching however does a crow mix eliminate the need for this?
Thanks...

This is my "low pass" record. Theother day, in a high speed pass, the plane went to the floor, and after take off, and continue fliyng !!! with the right aileron loose, (see the pic). After one turn, and check that the landing gear was out correctly, landing without problems.
This plane fly very well with only one aileron, ( only a little slower in the reactions).
