Thanks for the kind words guys. Don't look to closely, there are a few wrinkles.....

Great looking plane. How hard was it to cut that?

Mike and Paul, both your R54s look terrific! I'm really happy and proud to see new R54s continuing to pop up from time to time. Be sure to get more pics when you take them outside.
Mike, one quick idea for you... I really like the chrome canopy too, but you might try outlining it with thin black striping tape (1/16 or 3/32). Will help contrast it with the surrounding platinum Monokote.

Hi Dave,
The Reaction 44 finaly flew. I sold it unfinished to my friend in Western Australia. He did a great job of covering and installing the gear. He flies it all the time and says it flies very well. Perhaps I should have kept it.!!
Regards

I finally got a decent video of my R54 flying. I put BVM brakes on it due to my short field. It made landings much less interesting which is good. I am still getting to know the plane, but it flies better then I could of hoped for. My club now has 3 turbines and we were all there flying this weekend. I think we have started something at the clubas thereare at least 2 other guys who are now talking about getting into turbines. I can’t wait for my next chance to get out to the field and fly again.

Nice landing Chris!! And good decision on the go-around (or was it just a slow pass?). You had a nice little headwind which really helps shorten the landing distance. Didn't look like that landing needed any brakes at all. I hope your jet group keeps growing down there; that's extra cool...

Hey Bruce,
Sorry we missed each other last weekend. I will be back up there soon for some more riding so maybe the timing will be better. The first approach was just practice. I spent most of the day shooting landings. I am feeling better that the plane is not going to fall out of the sky even though it feels like it is on the base turn. Love the plane.
Thanks,
Chris

Paul,
Love the color scheme!!! What type of covering did you use for that carbon fiber look? Bruce, great idea on the black pinstriping tape.

I think it was an Ultracote covering. Don't really know for sure as a buddy of mine handed me a leftover piece just enough to do the job on the canopy.

Hey guys,
I can't find my plans and need to know the cg range. Currently I'm at 6.5" from thee leading edge.
I'm bringing it out of mothballs as a backup for Kentucky Jets with a bigger engine and lighter batteries. Had to add 1.25 lbs in the nose to get at 6.5"
Test flight tomorrow.
PS- I know it's in the thread somewhere but got tired of looking

I found the plans after all
Got a test flight in today. Since my F-16 is out of commission and my Flash's engine will meet me in KY, this was the first jet flight of the year. I usually have about 50 by now.
Anyway, I can't remember the last time I landed any plane that slow
Of course it's been a few years since I flew the Reaction. Only got one flight in do to a leaking festo filter. I knew I should have got rid of that thing [:@]

Hello,
I need some help please.
I am installing the Kingtech K-80 in my Reaction 54 but have a couple problems.
I need those fuel line adapters that go from lets say 3mm to 4mm. I got one that came with the turbine but need a couple more. I also need inline shut off valves.
This is my first jet and I have no clue where to get these.
A couple links would be highly appreciated.
Thanks,
JR
