Here is where you can order and see the dimensions of the L gear I installed in my R-54, this gear is still working fine on my R-54, the only thing I did to it was to change the hub bearings, the car section of your LHS will have them or order on line, you can also order an entire wheel, it comes with the hub shaft and brakes.

I Know this is an old thread, but was wondering if any of you guys had any issues with the cables for the elevator and rudder? was it standard 3/32 cable or something special? i am completing an aircraft the was missing a few items.

I am guessing that moving the servos aft is probably an idea which Bruce would agree with all these years later. When using today’s much lighter engines, one can move the servos aft without creating burdensome CG issues. All while losing the weight of the cables themselves and creating a more direct linkage. Win/win.

I will be getting a Reaction 54 kit from Bruce's final run of kits. He no longer stocks the retract sets (air & electric) that he used to sell, and I don't see them on the manufacturers websites either, so I will be getting one of the Chinese made electric retract sets. Someone on this forum recommended the JP Hobby electric retracts and I looked them up on TurbineRC. Wow, they make a lot of sets of for all kinds of jets. One would assume that a set designed for a jet that weighs the same as the Reaction 54 would be correct, but I have no idea about the specs of all the different jets they show retract sets for. Does anyone know which JP Hobby electric retract set would be the correct one for the Reaction 54?

Carlos,
Thanks for the recommendation and info!
highhorse,
Check out the BTE website. Bruce has an update saying he is winding down the business and probably has enough wood to make a run of R54 kits by the end of the year. So I asked him to put me down for one and he did. So hopefully it'll be a Xmas present this year.
