Reaction 54 Jet Kit

Just to clarify, I recommended digital servos for all control surfaces. Overkill, no doubt, but it just doesn't pay to skimp on servos in any jet. The Hitecs listed below were used in the prototype, so their specs became the minimum requirements.
Aileron and Rudder Hitec HS5625MG 110 oz.in. @ 4.8V
Flaps and Elevator Hitec HS5645MG 143 oz.in. @ 4.8V
Steering, Retracts Hitec HS-225MG 54 oz.in. @ 4.8V
Obviously, you can substitute other brands with similar torque values.

I use a BVM "Ram 500" mount because I had one on the engine. However I think that the Wren mount that is now included on the engine will work with the PST style mount.

Mach-1, man that looks fantastic, great job!
I actually won't be able to finish mine as I have another project that needs quick financing.
So I'm letting my go.
If anyone wants one with alot of the work done already, check it out:

Warren, that is a beautiful job you did on that bird! The best looking Reaction I've seen! Are your inlets lined with carbon fiber? The interior aft inlet pictures looks black. BTW, what graphics did you use?

WOW!! mach-1 That looks exactly like my R-54.... when I build it
What did you use for the panel lines, paint pen?
Monokote is only a lot of work if you do it right, and you did[8D]

Well - the weather, my schedule and the burn ban lifting at Shelton, finally all fell into place and we had a great day flying the R-54 today. An excellent flying machine with no bad tendencies. After a couple of flights I felt comfortable enough to let 3 guys (non-jet flyers) each take a turn on the buddy box and they had a ball. I also gave some stick time to a turbine qualified friend. I wouldn't be surprised to see Bruce get a couple of orders because of it.
Anyway we had a great time!! Thanks Bruce

At least. Sorry I missed it this year. I understand it was a great get-together. It's a high priority for me for next year. I should have my new Bobcat going strong by then as well. It's stick built but will have flaps and small gear doors just like the comp. ones.

I have finally got my new Reaction 54 finsihed. I spent some time getting a better finish than I did on the first one. (I am not very good at plastic covering.)
I tried to make it a little more "Slippery". Fillets on the wings and tail and a glass cloth and paint finish.
I also "rounded" the edges more than usual.
I moved the UAT and Fuel pump to the front of the wing in the "ECU Tray". This seems to have helped with the balance.
The glass and paint has added about 16 oz to the total weight.
Just a few more things to do to and It will be RTF.
The Wren Supersport should make it very exciting.
As far as I know there are now two completed Reaction 54's in Australia.
Regards

Looking good Tom, are you off to Wangaratta late Nov? I hope to have a flyer ready for Wang, it's about half built, started it just after we saw you at Temora. Must get back to work! - John.

G'Day john,
Yes I intend to get to Wangaratta. I don't know if I will have the new R54 ready and inspected by then but I will try. It all depends if I can meet up with Phil Celima and the weather is Ok. I don't want to ge there with a really new model that I haven't flown much. The old one is now so reliable and predictable I just love flying it.
