RE: FC Mig 29 photos
I always wondered why they never built a model jet with working exhaust "turkey feathers." I recall there was a gentleman on this forum who claimed he was working on one, and in fact had posted photos of a 1/5th scale working exhaust feathers. I would think that for the ultra realists/scale builders would want this seemingly trivial but very significant part of all modern fighter aircraft. Does anyone know of a company that does provide working tail/exhaust feathers as an alternative to the simple molded add ons?

I dont know of any company who sell them but what springs to mind for me is hinging all the feathers seperatly and putting some form of a sliding linkage on the end of each one and then possibly sticking 4 servos in the exhaust (top, bottom, left and right) which would be used to open and close one which pulls all the others into line. It may not work so well in the air at high speed but on the ground where it could actually be seen i could see it working.

I think that scale detailing was more in mind than functionality and just the outside cone would more not nessecarily the actual turbine exhast tube.

Well......I bought two totally unrelible engines "Modelmechanics" from South Africa....and the rest is more or less history....the starboard engine blew up right after takeoff....it was one of the most impresive crashes I've seen in model history....it looked like I cought an air to air mislle ....
I'm working on an F-14D prototype ...."better engines" after that I'm intending to finsh my Y/A twin F/A-18C.

My heart is with you on that...
How's your turbine project going...from looking at your drawings it suddenly struck me it's kinda based on the early Whittle jet engine prototype he built back in the early 40's. But that one was equiped with dual compressor wheels that where placed back to back.
I think that later on they moved further back the turbine wheel because they suffered from high temps in the front end as the prototype was built at the beginning...
