Is this what you mean? The servos on their side in the bay, held in by compressing bits of rubber band. It sounds ridiculous but it works and works so well I have repeated it in my next jet.

Rigth my friend, but I will include a pictures of what I get on my kit. Did you have to sand the box bigger than stock one or just you trimed the plywood ends?

Please see pictures.THey look different from yours.

Unfortunately I can't tell you much more than you can see in my photo. At the time I got my Sabre, Trim were having problems supplying kits so I had to buy a partially built kit from someone who was giving up. The servo boxes were already installed in the wings so I did not get to see the parts they were made from. All that was left for me to do was cyano in the strips of rubber band and push the servos in.

It works well. Be sure to reinforce the tail section, the empenage can move around as the fuse is kind of flimsy in the rear.
Also, be sure the canopy is securly attached. Mine came off on the maiden flight and caused a snap and crash.

Hi Pete:

I´m sure it will works but what I´m not sure is that kit parts came right. Do you have any closeup picture like Harry sent?
Again,I think the grooves(how they call the plywood servo mounts) came wrong or I have my mind screwed due I cant see how to do that simple stuff¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡ I´m sorry if I looks newbie but I´m stuck here.Maibe I´m translating in a wrong way, I dont know.

David

Will include also a part of plans picture with instuctions.

The plan looks like my model. There are 4 pieces of wood with a narrow gap between each pair to hold the mounting lugs, whereas you seem to have 3 pieces of wood equally spaced along the servo bay lining.

Pete, you were really unlucky. My Sabre's hatch came off once and I was able to land without a problem. The hatch came off due to an almost terminal crash on take off which smashed the inlet pipe and nose cone up into the hatch, breaking the 1/4"ply fuselage former at the rear so the hatch catch was able to come free of the fuz. Incredibly the hatch and the canopy survived the impact onto tarmac from 100 feet up. The little half-recessed ply parts that hold the front of the canopy to the lip on the model are original and still intact and firmly in place.

My Trim Sabre has just completed its 83rd flight, approx 10 hours in the air, and is just superb fun to fly.

I have one and it flys well. I did not like the Idea of using rubber bands so I did mine different. I made a lite ply top to cover the opening in the wing. I mounted 6 hard wood pools into the wing. These become the screw point for the lite ply Hatches. The servos are mounted to the hatchs By making a side way mount. Then the arm comes through the ply hatch cover. The cover is then secured by 6 screws to the post. If you like the sound of this Send me an E-mail and I will take some pics and send them to you.

Hi again guys¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡ finaly I could finish my Trim F-86 after sort so many problems.

HEre is some pictures and need to do some weathering, it looks too clean.

My last problem to solve is the fuel tank for the turbine. Trim is out of bussines since many time and I cannot find a fuel tank for my airplane. The customs(made to order JEt-Tech) are too expensive for this kind of airplane besides I spent more money than expected.

SO if someone can help me to find a solution or a original Trimair fuel tank, I really apreciate. They could be also used and as I can see Pete had crashed his one, so by the way you still having your fuel tanks?

Why not make your own tanks - carve some foam to shape and lay up epoxy glass over them.

What about the BVM conformal tank for the 60" Sabre?? its 1.75L and then you can add two saddle tanks.

Harry: Of course, this will be my last option if I dont have any way out and never did before. I also considered to use plasma tanks but I dont feel confortable with them.

I Installed a Jetcat 70 and room is headache Vincent, I already try a BVM tanks for the small Sabre they made and it not fits in any way.

Did Trim actually go out of business, or just stop making fibreglass stuff? I thought they were still making other things like wheels. About 2 years ago I got wheels, and some spare Sabre wooden parts from them, long after they stopped kit production.

Hello Harry and all.
I e:mailed Trimair day before yesterday and had a reply within 12 hours. they have not gone out of business as you say. They don't do kits anymore but they still do wheels and things.
