RE: How much runway to launch P80 powered Roo
I used to fly my P-80 powered Roo off a 350' grass strip (200' above sea level) all the time. As long as I spooled up before releasing the brakes, takeoff wasn't a problem. Landing, on the other hand was interesting. The rule of thumb we used to use was 'if you cross the threshold at idle, you're committed to land.' In other words, the runway was too short to do a go-around if you screwed up and you take what you get after you cross the threshold...

Anytime, and don´t be afraid to push the elevator stick with authority after some ground speed is
obtained.. the high thrustline in the Kangaroo makes it impossible to over rotate and stall.. (but be
ready to hold a lot of "up" elevator until cruise speed is reached).

Enrique is right, it is very hard to stall a Roo at full power on the TO run, I have done it to clear the weeds off to the sides of our runway because a not so centered TO.
I held the elevator full up and she left the ground very slow but with authority then relaxed it to pick up speed.
