Jet Fest day in England!
Guys
Returned from the Nurnberg Toy Fair late Saturday night just in time to go for our monthly jet fix in Oxfordshire.
The weather was great and a number of new models made their first flights, I was kept busy test flying a new ARF Bandit, Yellow Flash and Graupner F-16. Ian Richardson's big BVM F-86 was test flown and in all around 15 jets were flown during a normal club day!
Models are Luke Barnett's Bandit ARF, Rob Westwater's Yellow Flash, Roger Melville's proto scheme F-16, Steve Robert's grey F-16, Trevor Skedge's Edwards F-16 (all F-16's from the Graupner kit) Tim Jenkinson's Lightning. There were more I didn't get time to photo while flying my Bandit ARf and Flash.
Ignor the Yak photo..wrong number!

Looks great Dave. A lot of jet flying it seems.....
How do you find the Flash compared to the Bandit arf? You may PM me if you wish to avoid being shot at

I'm not scared!
OK They are very different..and the same!
The Flash comes out a good 4-4.5lb heavier than the ARF Bandit, but the thick wing means that the Flash still flies very slowly without falling out of the sky-The smaller flaps/spoiler on the Flash are not very effective when compared with the ARF Bandit flaps, which are very good.
The Flash/Bandit speeds are very similar, both fast and slow speeds end up very close, but the Flash needs time to slow down.
The Flash elevator response is much sharper than the Bandit, so even with lots of expo the Flash turns on a dime with little stick movement.
General handling in aerobatics at speed are similar, little/no roll couple in knife edge, the same sort of snap feel/speed.
I like the feel of the Flash in wind because of the heavier wing loading, it maintains energy better in windy weather.
Really the biggest difference is the elevator response-sharp on the Flash, soft on the Bandit. Flaps soft on the Flash and sharp (powerful) on the Bandit.
Price makes the Flash a No brainer for many customers!!
Regards
Dave

RE: Jet Fest day in England!
Thx Dave.
It seems that the Flash and the lightning have a very short coupling moments between the stabs and the wings which may explain the sensitive elev.
I like the blue angels flash and I may get one someday. I am having a blast with my Bandit arf right now!!!!

No, its not even in the program-remember 2.4 has not been made legal in countries like japan and Germany (yet) so they are not working hard...
Graupner did show the MX-24 12 channel version of the excellent MX-22.
It will have Synth built in when it is released-I'm working on the UK version covering all our frequencies rather than just the German ones.
Very little to get excited about (except some of the girls that work as translaters!) for jet modellers.
Ripmax showed a light weight F9F Panther for P60 power...made of plastic!
Plenty of Foam EDF around.
The Graupner 1:5,5 Hawk will be released soon, so it is a little smaller than the AW version.

No, Graupner Synth modules only have Ch 61-80...
I can cut you a good deal on a UK module with an MX-22.
