Maverick Rebuild/Conversion

I have also flown one during some time till I lost it due to a control failure (please, rute the antenna outside for avoiding blank areas!) and have mine set up strictly as per instructions.
I only found a bit quick aileron for rolls (a bit out of scale) and a too brisk taje off although gear and elevator were set up just as instructions.
In the other hand, no trouble for landings even I never used full flaps down.
Best Luck with your reborn Maverivck: good flights and even better landings!.
Best Regards,
Jesus Cardin

Sorry to dig up an old thread, but by chance would anyone happen to have the control throws and CG for an original Mav? I picked one up from a friend (who was not the original owner) and he didn't get any paperwork with it. Looking for the CG and throws for ail, elev, rud and split flaps.
Thanks.
Thanks.

I have the assembly manual for the original Maverick, but the CG is on the plans side view, which I no longer have.
Aileron throw is 5/8" up, 1/2" down.
Elevator throw is 5/8" up and 5/8" down.
Rudder is 1 1/8" left and right.
Maybe someone else could chime in with the CG position, or you could call BVM.
See the website www.bvmjets.com, and click on the words "CONTACT BVM" on the front page. This feature has been available for some time, and is there to assist BVM customers.
Hope this helps.....

way back in 1993-this old beast was D/F power-
In 2005 I bought it from a shop in london in a damaged state-i repaired it quickly and then in 2006-whiped a jetcat p-60 on board -but the old bus looked terrible for the outstanding performance it gave-
5 weeks ago i did a full strip to the bone-ordered new set of wing holders from bvm-through Motors and rotors-uk
and now im onto the primer and filler part.
will add pic's in an hour.

Hi Adam, I had a suspicion it was you, best wishes with the Mav, I'm still circling mine. Did you use the original wing spar system? Since I don't have any flex plates or c.f. spar holders I was going to use the old fashioned ali spar system. keep us posted. p.s. why did you go to B+Q to take the pictures? Ron.

Hi Adam, what is wrong with i.c.d.f ??? My only other choice is a Wren 44 gold. Without any mod's to the ducting I can place the 2 saddle tanks positioned as per plan and a further pair forward of these either side of the inlet ducting. This works out at a litre of kerosene which is OK for a decent flight duration with the Wren but with only 10 pounds of thrust I can't see any advantage over the Viojet which would be a lighter option. I have enough OS 91s to last me, my son, and my grandson if they ever wished to take up the hobby.
What power source are you using ? and how much progress have you made since your last post? Ron.
