Skymaster F-4 Maiden video
Hi guys, we just maidened the Skymaster F-4 powered by a Jet Central Rhino. I am speachless with this one. The size of this jet in combination with the Rhino is amazing.
The maiden was very smooth. The takeoff run was of about 110 meters. The F-4 needed a lot of elevator to takeoff, but it was very smooth.
The flight was very stable and predictable. In contrats to other jets I have flown the F-4 uses more elevator on turns. This might be the CG or just a model characteristic. The CG is at 280mm. After 3 or 4 minutes it was time for slow flight tests. With no flaps applied I throttled back and start applying up elevator. Until I went all the way to full up elevator the jet didin't even move a wing. When it stalled the nose just came a bit down and that was it.
On landing full flaps where applied. This bird like to come with power. The nose slightlly up and power was used to make it come down.
My first landing was a bit of a carrier one, as I found out that the F-4 comes down fast if you let it glide a bit, excelent test for the hydraulic struts. Second landing was with a bit more power and it came much better. This is the one on the video. Third landing was made a bit more nose high and use more power. This is the perfect combination, the landing was smooth and short.
Well here is a video of the maiden day. Hope you guys like it...

RE: Skymaster F-4 Maiden video
Wonderfull beast this F-4 ain´t it ? just a little correction, the CG was 290mm for the maiden, was a real pleasure for me to built this one, there is plenty of room inside of this phantom, Skymaster did a very good job with this ARF and best of all, she fly´s awesome, rocksolid man, very fast and powerfull, really a great machine, here are some more pictures of the very same F-4, if u guys have a cuestion just let us know, take care...
