I used robart electric gear with fly model struts and jp wheels and breaks. Basically I used what I had in the spare parts box. 😁

I am a member at 2 clubs. RCCR and SEMAC. Rccr has 2 fields near Brockport NY, and SEMAC flies at the Perry Warsaw airport. Never been to pine hill. Is it nice?

Default Pine Hill

It was nice but I dropped out of the club after the owner died and the airport was sold to an investor and the club relationship was going down hill. Jets hanging on my shop wall and trailer has been parked since.

that is a shame. I was flying at hendershot airport with a small group for 20years. Same thing happened. Owner passed and it was sold to an investor and we got booted. Great group of jet guys that fly in Perry. You should check it out if your interested in getting back into it. PM me if you would like my number, Id be happy to give you the club info.

Just out of interest, what does it weigh with a 12S battery? And what capacity battery? I'm guessing 5000mAh for a decent flight time.

I had one of these models with a 14 lb thrust Wren 54. I forget the weight, but I bought another kit to do it again some time.

Hi : alasdIr
My Falcon 120 all up weight is 19 Lbs with two 6 cell 6000 75c packs (12s set up).
I use a 120mm Chan Sung Fan unit. 550 kv motor. (at full throttle, I get right at 12 lbs of thrust for 5 mins).
With throttle management: I can play around in the air for around over 7 min and be at 3.7 to 3.8 per cell.
This was my first Falcon 120 and i put the ESC on top to keep it cool and it stays real cool. I put the small paper tube over the ESC for better air flow over
the ESC. It did not effect the thrust of the fan. On the back end of the fan unit, is a light weight aluminum stove pipe adapter from home depot. The stove pipe adapter fits perfect with very little modifications. when you cut the tail end of the pipe off, it is a 100mm size outlet. a 100mm outlet is what you need for a 120mm fan unit.
( keeps you from having to make a thrust tube).
I use the same setup in my Byron F-16, Boomerang Sprint , 1/7 F-5 and a twin setup in my 36 lbs Yellow Aircraft F-14 .

My pilot for my Falcon 120....LOL
I am about to put the same twin ChanSung 120mm setup that is in my F-14 into a project a good friend and I are working on. The F-117 is over 11 feet long.
Now my biggest problem is getting into the car.......

Hi Wayne,
Your F-14 is very impressive in flight, and the F-5 is a beauty.
Your Falcon has the same scheme as my old one (photo below) Mine was lighter than 15 lb, but I can't remember exactly. Dry weight not far off thrust output. Went well on a 14 lb thrust Wren, great performance! You should try a turbine..
Sadly, I tried a touch and go and clipped a fence post on the go part. But I bought another kit, orange and white scheme.
I've not had much success with EDF so tend to stick to turbine power.
My Hobby King Diablo on 6S was quite good, and the Freewing L-39 Albatros is a nice model on 6S, but another bigger model bought second hand uses 10S on a 90mm Dr Madthrust fan and is disappointing. Probably should have had a 120mm like yours.

Thank You Alasdair
one day I will have a turbine.
When I ordered my Falcon 120, I ordered the orange and black one. To my surprise, it was Red , White and Blue.
The first thing i thought of when i opened the box was : Evel Knievel jumping over Greyhound buses on his motorcycle in his red , white and blue suit and cape.
I was able to find an Evel Knievel figure at wal-mart for the pilot. I was about to put Evel Knievel into a jet cockpit when I thought, That would be such an injustice to a
Great Stunt Man like Evel Knievel. So I used one of my sons old toy motorcycles and that became the cockpit......LOL
I have a great time flying my Falcon 120.

Hi all, what size servos are most using on each rudder? Standard or mini?

I had two Hitec 82MG mini servos, one on each rudder.
And two Hitec 225BB servos on elevator.
Power was a 14lb thrust Wren, and it was light.

I believe I used Hitec HS 85MG or similar on the rudders. The servos for the rudders were mini and not micro. For the first 120 I used HS 635's pretty much all around. For #2 I used HS 5645 as I recall.

about the servos, Servo Master DS3010 HV 7.9kg all around, 15$ each

had some problems with stock servo covers limiting the travel of servo arm, linkage could not go deep into the wing to follow, so travel needed to be reduced on TX, and hole further from servo shaft needed to be used.. reduced torque...
so designed and printed covers that act as mounts too, have a seat for servo built in, and lowers servo flush with the wing bottom(tail servos too) so I could have full travel and max torque, with stock linkages from falcon Name: smile.gif
