Default Maracaibo Jet Blast, Venezuela

Hello

Every year since 2002 Venezuelan Jet fliers gather in the city of Valencia for the only official Jet Event in Venezuela:
Valencia Jet Blast

But last year the organizers decided that for 2007 it would be moved to the western city of Maracaibo.

So from Sunday July 22nd and Monday 23rd 18 pilots and 23 jets met for a couple days of flying.

This year hoping to atract more people to participate in the event that normally accepts turbines and Ducted Fans, Piston powered and electrical powered jets were allowed.

Here are some of the pics

The first one is the most experienced jet flier in Venezuela:

The second one is one of the newest but certainly no slouch:

Looks like a great site to fly. We need to make a thread for the South American jet events. I would of like to come but I didnt know about it. I work for the airlines so getting there is no problem.

How is the weather down there right now.

Weather is great year round. Hot in the winter and hotter in the summer. Just kidding... depends on where you are.

I am sure the organizers would like to have international guests. We get Americans and Europeans in the winter for activities like fishing, kitesurfing/windsurfing, birdwatching, diving, hiking. Why not a wintertime Jet Vacation.

Well like I said this is the one event of the year for Jets and the National Fly In has always a good Jet turnout but I will inform the organizers to post prior to the event to see who could be interested. There is plenty of flights everyday from the US. Maybe someone will want to mix a Jet/Vacation activity.

Nice videos and pics Pedro... thx for posting them.

One thing that amazes me every time I see threads like this is that no matter how different each country is from each other, but r/c clubs worldwide always look the same.

Saludos, Enrique

I have a question about the Tamjets F18 shown above in the pics and in the videos.....

Does the model come finished like that with all the weathering and panel line detail? Or did the builder do that as extra?

Will

It was finished by the builder. It came as an all white kit. But check Tam´s website I believe he has a build and paint service. It´s extra but it seems very good

Yeah its quite a bit extra for the Tam custom ones. But they're sooooo nice. One day I'll be able to afford one :-)

Your friend did a superb job on his model too. Congrats to him!
