I think I have finally figured this whole debate out...Jet Cats run better for people on the West Coast and Jet Centrals run better on the East coast, not sure exactly how they run in TX, but I'm sure they are at least BIGGER there.
Good one jclittle..

BTW..................while in Lubbock, I saw the BIGGEST BUGS I have ever seen. So, "bigger in texas" is right, but, "even bigger in Lubbock" applies to the damn bugs! While I was driving around the loop bugs were hitting the windshield so often it sounded like rain and I have the HUGEST winged-wasp-looking thing still stuck to my Tahoe's antenna (I might try to take a pic of it) - I mean it is like the size of a really small bird!

I heard it like this somewhere....For the average Joe who logs 50 flights a year or so then Jetcentral maybe fine. But for those die hards that really put some hours on....like 300 to 900 flights per year then the Jetcats may be the way to go. I have NO experience with Jetcentral. Nothing bad to say about them. I do have alot of time on Jetcats. I have 2 -120's with over 300 flights in just under two years. Another 120 with over 600 flights. That motor is running so good I put it in my new Flash. The longevity seems to be real strong with the Jetcat, but I think it always has to do with maintence and staying in TUNE with your plane. As soon as something sounds different, I don't take a chance, I look into what might be the problem. Again nothing against any other company. I think there are plenty of other good motors..ie , AMT, Wren, Jetcentral but the reliabiltiy is there with the Jetcat.

My experience, Billy

I don't know what's going on here with Loufest '07. But since we're on the topic, he's probably one of the nicest guys I've met. Go Lou, Go Lou, It's your birthday, get busy, Go Lou..

Good analogy. You can keep a Mercedes running for millions of miles, or any car....well not any..., but any decent car for that matter if the proper maintenance is done on a regular basis.

I am definately the average Joe when it comes to how I fly, (i.e. balls no where near the size of Doug) but as far as 50 flights a year, with any luck at all tonight I will log my 100th flight on my Falcon since I got it on July 13th. The only problem I have had with it was "cross-talk" between the EGT and the glow leads - twisted them up and no probs since.

Is it possible that the Falcon trouble that was experienced by Doug was due to earlier models that have since been revised?

BTW, I will happily pay the $250 every 25 hours to know that it will keep me updated with the latest in hardware and software and still covered by the warranty which includes 3 day or less replacement parts and 7-10 day turnaround.

I think if you view owning a Jet-Central turbine as sorta like a turbine "subscription" it will be a little easier to justify. $10 per hour of run time is worth it for piece of mind IMHO.

You certainly can't knock the Jetcat reliability but you also can't deny that it is nice that we have the option to choose between several great brands.

Maybe we should print up some shirts that say "I'd rather hot-start my Jet Cat than fly a Jet Central" or "I'd rather ground-run my Jet-Central than fly a Jet Cat" kinda like the whole "I'd rather puch a Ford than drive a Chevy!"

These engines have a 25 hour "maintenance interval." What has to be done at this interval?
