Hi Sandor,
Nice meeting you soon too! I will stop by Amsterdam next month. Could you hold up a jet in front of the Central Train Station, so I can find you easily?
Thanks for the advise. If they can copy Boomerang, Bobcat and all these nice sport jets, there is no surprise that they will do the same to ours. I am doing this as a hobby and just want to see how to turn a ugly plane into something nicer. If it works that would be nice, if not, no big deal.
Mike

RE: What do you think of FORMOST 150 ?
I am selling my (second) Formost, because I sold the turbine.
This plane is with my completely reinforced wings as described in this thread (one set), a new unfinished fuselage, the retracts+Jet 1A oleos+wheels, the main fuel tank, and all the rest of a kit in double.
No turbine, no radio.
Please PM me if interested.
Best Regards,
Nicolas.

RE: What do you think of FORMOST 150 ?
Hello,
last week i made a few changes on my formost...
With a Friend i tried to put some pu-foam in the middle-wing-section. The section is now very solid. I also put some pu-foam into the wings (be carefull, if you do so) After 1 hour i could see some "bumps" at the wing surface (hopefully you can understand my bad english ) But over night these bumps disapeared.
The whole wing section seems very stable now.
I had also problems to land this floater on our landing field... I put the ailerons up at 65% at the landing. Now you can easy land this jet...
With regards
Dirk

The Sullivan tanks you mentioned have the following specification:
Size: 32oz (960ml)
Height: 3" (76mm)
Width: 3-11/32" (85mm)
Length: 7-1/2" (190mm)
These tanks would fit stacked on top of each other.
My recommendation when interconnecting the tanks is to use .187" dia tubing.
At 64 oz you should be able to get a 7 minute flight

RE: What do you think of FORMOST 150 ?
I have started a F 150, strengtened the booms, have a p60 and 64 oz tank and will order a set of spring air retracts(as on my baby b). What mods to the wings do you recommend for this combo????????
Is it necessary to redo the fuse formers?????

- No, you could do without the improved fuselage formers, but they would only make your life much easier and also accomodate the Digitech tank perfectly.
Be sure you glue everything all over again, the used glue is crap.
- Spend some extra care on all wooden retract mounts.
- As for the strengthening of the wings, this is an absolute must, and explained in detail.
Nicolas.

Nicolas, covered the highlights ...
Fuselage modifications are a mater of personal preference, I preferred not to use the CRAP plywood
And of course I like my layout
If you want to see your landing gear come out on landings then you can leave the mounts alone, here again I prefer to have my gear stay with the aircraft
I think all of the critical mods and reasons have been thoroughly discussed in this thread.

RE: What do you think of FORMOST 150 ?
Igor, I emailed my PDF document to you.
As far as extensions, I will have to go from memory
I used a Y harness in the center section for the flaps, the flap servos leads were long enough without extensions to plug into the Y.
The Aileron servos needed 6" extensions, the same for the elevator.
You will need one 36" extension for the elevator down the one boom.
You will need a 24" extension from the elevator boom extension to the receiver.
Depending on the length of your Y you may need short extensions to reach the flaps, you will need 24" back to the receiver
The steering, brake and retract servos will need short extensions, I believe 6" should do.
Depending on your aileron setup you can use either a Y or run individual leads back to the receiver, follow the flap recommendations if you use a Y.
I hope this helps, you may want to order a variety of extra extensions just in case
Rich

Hi Igorcar,
Rich copied his flaps off mine. They are cut from the orginal ailerons. His are 13" long with 10" ailerons. I also added speed brakes to the top of my flaps. They are maid from 1/16" plyoow and glued to the top of each flap. They are 3.5" long and 2.5" wide. They are covered in Monokote. Here are a few shots of them:
