If I remember right, the neutral position on the stabs is the lower panel line of the formation lights. Balance on the front spar with the gear up and tanks empty (UAT full if you have one). You will absolutely love the way it flies.

One of the local flyers flew his Yellow F/A-18 with a single Simjet Nexus (36 lbs thrust) and it flew quite well. As was mentioned in an earlier post to this thread, before the more powerful turbine actually hit the market, people were flying this plane first with twin ducted fans. Later the Ram 1000 was used Though the Ram 1000 was reported to have 28lbs of thrust, many of us learned later after having the engine serviced that the power output on some of the 1000s was between 24 to 26 lbs. In my opinion, the 160SX at 35-36lbs, you should be able to have external stores attached to this plane and get reasonable flight performance. Not sure what the overall weight of your will be, but I have twin turbines on my Y/A F-18 and it weighs 47lbs wet. I assume that with a single powerplant, your plane will weigh considerably less.

Wow,
I went back through and looked at all the pics from this thread. It was only 4 years ago, but I can't believe how sloppy my hysol is in there. That crap is everywhere! Much neater these days.

I've seen it twin now in a couple threads.... can anyone confirm?
Thank you

Just looking at in now if I line the front of the stab up with the lower panel on the formation strip it looks like up elevator to me....
Shawn if your around I'm sure you know.... is it the upper or lower panel line?

Ron,
I can check for sure when I get home. If you have to guess, go for the low one! No risk there!

Thanks Kevin! that's just the info I need in the morning...
I just glued up my push rods (dave brown and all thread) and will set them up in the morning
start on the top of the formation light ( is it really a light? looks more like a reflector?)
Thank bud! still lots to do.... but I'm plugging along. Trying to get all the servos.... still have landing gear, cockpit, gear doors, air brake, mount the fans, tray for lipos.... so lots of work.
but I'll get her done! trying to have it done for Best of the West I may see if I can get one of the pros to maiden it for me, Ali or Pablo
Or sneak out to the field when the peanut gallery isn't there and just go for it

You must be getting close to wrapping it up Ron if you're setting up throws, great news! Can't wait to see pics and get flight reports! The model looks great! Keep us posted and good luck.

Electroluminescent lights provide for a solid state device that emits a uniform luminance over its entire surface. This is what I believe they are. Glad I could help. The bug flys great and you will love it.
