Interesting to read this David.. any special care to do it ?
also ditto on the tailerons suggestion too, I liked more my F-16 with aleirons not mixed with the elevators.
Btw, I3dm .. nice paint scheme!
Enrique
On Tam's I had to hard mount the servos to the fuselage and add some thin CA to teh Elevon torque shaft to eliminate all the slop. .

On the ELEVN torque rod, you just apply some thin CA, let it cure and then insert them on the bushings and work them out. At first they are rigid but after a couple of cycles they loosen out.
On my TJ, the slop went from +/- .25 to virtually nothing. Before doing this, I did have a scare on a high speed low pass, which made me rework the setup.

Thats great, thanks! I always had issues with this all-flying surfaces.. no matter how good the linkage was it always had some slop
in the F-18,15,16, Delta things canards, etc... I´ll try it in this ones, and I guess that the greatest benefit will be in the F-18, wich has a formidable slop...

Hi friends,
just want let you know that I have finished my F-16 painted in IDFAF colour scheme. Its a EDF WeMoTec F-16, wingspan 70 cm. I´d like that colour scheme.

Hey Guys,
WIth the help of my good friend LaviRider, in the past 2 days the plane has been clear coated to a perfect realistic dull finish, using Standox vehicle paints.
Here are 3 pictures that demonstrate the finish.

Another thing that Lior (i3dm) wanted is a set of scaled down missiles for this plane.
I built him a set of 1:9 scale of AIM-120 AMRAAM.
as you can see from the pictures, the missiles are easily attache and detache from theire carrier that will be glued to the wing tip.
each missile is made of a carbon tube (heli tail boom), the fins are thin plywood sanded to an airfoil shape.
the tabs are plywood glued securely to the missiles with the appropriate bracket inside the carrier to fit the tabs.
all-in-all, it came out very nice...

Hi Ravivos,
the missiles look good. would be much better with decals?

I know it will look better with some decals but we dont have the appropriate ones for the AMRAAM.
Is there any idea how to do the missile's decals without having a dent in the wallet ?

Looks great.
Good luck NOT knocking off the fins on the missiles though!
I had the full ordinance set on my 1/6 scale F16 and managed to knock 2 fins off in the workshop, 1 getting it in the van, 1 in transit, 1 getting it out and then my mate knocked 2 off at the field.

I can assure you, clumsy Mark, that lior will have a very hard time knocking of these fins, they go all the way down to the center of the missiles body and are glued as an interlock.
The only thing he will be able to knock off is the paint... and then i will have to re-paint them [8D]

Hey guys,
After some time off this project (was busy with school) im finally back to finishing the F-16.
I have notched the rudder and installed the CF rudder horn, made a tray for the batteries in the nose (note lightning holes) and painted the inner wood with sanding sealer (to seal off the wood) and than gray paint.
I also doubled the main LG mounts, these are known to be somewhat flexible on the Cermak F-16.
I also went through all 3 retracts \ struts and used grease where needed and loctited all bolts.
Next step is to install the LG into the fuse so she could finally sit on her own legs.
Hopefully this will take in a couple of days.

In the meanwhile, while the gray paint is drying overnight, i decided to do the rudder servo mount as well.
This was simple - bolt the Hitec HS-125MG thin servo to the Tamjets mount, roughen the back of the mount with an Xacto blade, and glue in with 30 min epoxy mixed with some Aero-Seal to make it thick so it wouldnt run.
I positioned the entire servo with mount in the fin, in order to get the correct location for the servo horn, and while the plane it on its side, put some lead weights on the servo body to keep it in place until the epoxy hardens.

Today, i finished the rudder servo intallation and linkage, and later, with the help of my good friend Ravivos, i installed the landing gear and took her out for a short picture session.
She is looking awesome on her legs !

Just beautiful work performed on this bird, you chose great bases starter for your project.
I like IDF livery also, i would like to do one of my birds in same or similar livery as yours in future.
I didn't knew Cermark F16s could be converted into turbine powered models!, not bad at all, just great indeed. What did you use to draw your panel lines, pastels or pencil?.
Keep it up, but one thing is for sure, cockpit interior details do bring scale models to higher level of detail and class!. I am thinking on doing scale cockpit in my Arrow also, it will be all scratch built if i decided to go to that extreme with it.
Cheers,
Sam

Oh Oh!!, i didn't knew that, i thought Carmark only made propjet kits and you converted it into turbine powered jet!, good to know and learned something new today about Cermark F-16 variations.
Hey good job with that pencil work, really looks nice and authentic. Isn't it amazing how simple pencil can enhance whole appeal of the model's detail level...
When will it be ready for maiden flight?
Cheers,
Sam
