Is any country competing in the world jet masters 2009?
With only a week to go before the closing date for entries, only the host country (Israel) is listed as competing.
It appears, the credit crunch is having a severe effect.

Japan only entered in the 1st and 2nd WJM .. I want to enter for 2011 but we have no one here as a REP and unless I want to become the REP here, we here in Japan will NOT be entering any WJM and this REALLY SUCKS BIG TIME![sm=cry_smile.gif]
The Japanese Guy on the IMJC site is not the Japanese Rep, it is just that IMJC have not removed his name from their site.

I suspect the entry will be reduced somewhat from 2007. To take the English speaking nations only at 2007 WJM England had a team of six as did USA, Scotland and Northern Ireland. Australia had one.By my arithmetic that is twenty fve entries. So far it appears that the US have only three team members, England four, Scotland and Northern Ireland none confirmed so far and Australia one, that is a total of eight, a drop of seventeen since 2007. The Arab nations will not be there so that is around another four less than Northern Ireland.
My guess would be around 60 entries in total, down from 86 I think last time. I am sure the credit crunch is having an effect.

Any official notification of additions or retractions of IJMC members has to be directed to the IJMC board by either email, or letter, or by attendance at an IJMC meeting via a proposal to that effect.
As far as I am aware, no official notice has been given to the IJMC to have any rep removed/included from Japan. If any notice had been issued, then I would have been asked to edit the IJMC members site accordingly by the IJMC Chairman and/or board.
However, if in the future any official notification does come in, I will edit the details accordingly.

RE: Is any country competing in the world jet masters 2009?
Dave,
How can I enter the WJM for 2011?
I contacted Mr Hiroshi Hoya a few months ago, he said he emailed IJMC to be removed from the list but was told he was the only person in Japan so was asked to keep his name on the list until Japan could get a new Rep.
I asked Mr Hoya about entering 2011 and he said he has nothing to do with IJMC and I would have to wait until Japan got a new Rep. Japan only entered the first 2 Masters and have not had a team or pilot since and at this rate I do not see them having a New Rep. I enquired about becoming the New Rep for Japan, but I am new to Jets and was told to wait until I have a few more years piloting skills, which I have to agree with!

Hi Shigure,
You do not need to be a member of the IJMC to compete in the Jet Masters, all you need is a jet and the inclination to enter.
If you wish to be a Member of the IJMC all you have to do is contact Winnie Ohlgart, our Chairman, or any other Member of the Board and they will deal with your request. The contact information is on the IJMC Website.
I hope you will decde to go to the Jet Masters, it will be a pleasure to meet you, along with all the other jet pilots.

Correct in what you say, he does not need to be an IJMC member, but he does need to either check/verify with the current IJMC rep for Japan or run the risk of "stepping on toes" so to speak if he just enters himself. If this was not so, there could be a situation there 2 or more different teams applied to fly from the same country at the JWM, and this would be a difficult/imposible situation. (as only 6 pilots from any one country may enter a single JWM of that year.)
As you said, it would be best he become an IJMC rep if the current rep is no longer interested in retaining his post. The more IJMC reps per country the better if a situation like this arrises.

To be more precise, I can perfectly enter Israel. The problem is that as soon as I get an Israeli custom stamp on my visa, I will be banned for Dubai.
Then of course I'll lose my job...

Hi Oliver
Regarding your comment on the Visa and Passport:
When you enter Israel you can ask the border control officers not to stamp your Passport , they will give you a special paper that you can throw away when you leave.
Best Regards
and welcome to Israel

Here is the solution to Middle East peace: Get all Arab and Israeli leaders together (location not relevant) and stick a transmitter in their hands with jets on the other end. Then have the traditional bar-b-q and pilots' awards on the last day, send everyone back home with a firm date for the next jet meet fly-in. Problem solved!

Hi Dave,
Your right, all entrants should go through the IJMC Rep for his particular country. However, if there is no rep for said country,or he isn't known, then the right way to find out is to contact the IJMC direct. By doing this he will not be causing any problems with any fellow jet pilots in his country, as they will give him the information he requires.
