Hello,
Today were the maiden flights of my F20 JL,and all I can say is that everything went perfectly.Take Off was relatively short ,high speed was very impressive with the Simjet 2300 ,slow speed was also very very good with full flaps, and aerobatics like rolls ,loops and Knife Edge gave the same feeling as flying an F3A ship. Many thanks to my friend Charles Lévy for these nice photos, and a very special thank to John C from Cardiff ("JetJohn") who gave in his thread the perfect settings for the F20.
Best regards.Etienne from Paris.

My Feedback: (34)

Seeing the F-20 still makes me a little sad knowing how Northrup got screwed on such a great airplane. Back when I was an air traffic controller at LA Center in Palmdale, we used to see it flying almost every day from Plant 42.
Looks like yours flies very nicely.. Great job!

Nice one Etienne, I am so glad it all went well.
And thank you for the kind remarks.
The review on the JL F20 that I have done is due out in this months issue of RCJI.
I miss the F20 it was a great plane. Fast yet very smooth & controllable. I have to agree the slow speed handling with the nose slightly up was superb. Made landing on my short club strip achievable.
All the best,
John C

Hello Florent,
You are right, for my next project after completing the Mig29(maybe a big M2000?),I don't know how I will find enough room,I try my best not to stock the aircraft in the living room,my son for sure would be happy, but not my wife!
Best regards.Etienne.

Hi,
The plans show what looks like a nylon washer to be placed on the elevator shafts as a spacer.
Did you get these in your kit, are they required ?
My kit did not have these, when I fit the elevators and push them in hard they just about clear (1mm) the fuselage when moved from one extreme to the other.

Thanks John,
Better be safe than sorry.
More than 1 airframe (not this one) been lost due to elevator root chord rubbing against fuselage under flight stress, when seemed A-OK on the bench.
Regards
Julian.
