Hey Larry,
I couldn't make it, I had prior engagements(kids). I've been eye- balling the one in Keith's video as well. I'm glad someone local got to see it in person and coming from you, I know it's everything you say it is. Tres is going to get one too. I've already told my wife to be expecting an addition to the family. She keeps telling me" I thought you weren't buying anymore until you finish what you got." Now tell me, what's the fun in that?
Looking at the video, you shouldn't have any problems getting out of RDRC. If so, bring it down to the home of the gnats, I'm sure it'll get airborne there. I guess my next major meet will be Fly for Tots. I'm trying to get my T-45 finished. Should be a blast.
I'll see ya,
Steve

Well it is a gorgeous plane that is for sure.
Do you guys have a fall back plan if Feibao gets out of the jet business? I assume you have the tooling rights, etc?
I can't wait to see one of these in person.
Regards,
EDIT: Sorry to clarify, meaning going forward if I need a stab or something as a damage replacement that there will be a source

Hi Matt, Gorgeous is an understatement for this one. Probably if not the nicest certainly near on par to the very best, glass and paint wise. Its probably the most complete ARF jet on the market, I cannot honestly think of another that comes with so many standard features. I have one of the Yellow Aircraft F-18 Twin ARF's and its up there with fit out and paint quality for sure.
FB are certainly not going anywhere! I know this first hand... nor are DJM, both companies are seriously commited long term to the hobby. In regard to (FB) there is an all new North American dealer network program being setup as we speak and this will be announced by the factory and the new North American dealers very soon and as details are finalised. DJM also have some exciting new products in the works, I cannot say to much more on that at this time however.
Yes DJM F9F-8 and all Fei Bao model parts will be available ongoing no worries... Let me know if I can ever assist with any FB or DJM spares or anything else!

Cheers- Marty

Hello Matt:
Jet Central USA will stock parts for the Cougar. Our plans are to stock the "nost likely to be needed" parts such as tires, wheels, brakes, struts etc. Should the customer need jet parts such as stab, nose etc, we will in fact carry those as well. With three current colors to select from, it means investment of $$'s to have each in stock. This will come in the fall quarter of 09.
Matt, I would like very much to see this Cougar in your capable hands. I look forward to hearing from you.
Best regards,
Eric

New Version manual released yesterday which has some minor changes in phrasing, some idea's incorporated from other builders we have delivered to as well as instructions for the canopy operation. You may email me @ [email protected] for any questions.
Will keep you posted.

Congrats George she looked just great in the air, the Wren 160 looks like a great match also power wise. Considering the smaller grass runway there you did great flying her off the grass and very nice field by the way! I think your right with the 1/4" CG shift rearward and increased elevator throw as well. Also possibly increasing or adding some expotential as well on elevator will assit further especially given the more or less shorter field strip and carrier style landing approaches. Normally on a long sealed strip you would come in flatter with a little more power and lower sink rate controlling decent with power. On your field its a little more difficult to set up for landing, I reckon the addition of body flaps and speed brakes may likely aid landings for you further as well... Anyway well done again, and please keep us posted on the setup changes and next few flights.

NICE, I am considering one. Good job. So if I get one, I can fly like Keith?

Nicely edited Keith. . .thank you for the great presentation of this great product. Thank you also for producing one of the best if not the best build manuals I have seen. I offer it in CD or pdf. for all readers interested.
Boli. . .Thanks for performing the duties of "sure I will maiden your Cougar" in such a professional and caring way. I still say you have the uncanny ability to place yourself in the cockpit when you fly.
Whether it be a grass runway or hard surface, you always seem to find the sweet spot for touch down! Sometimes grass is smoother !
My hats off to both of you.
Thanks,
Eric

Note that Boli (Bevar) is doing about half the flying on the video too. He is a better pilot than me, but I'm working hard to try to close the gap a little bit.

What he's not telling you is that I actually said "Sure I'll fly it...it ain't mine so what the heck do I care?"

I believe boli was flying the cougar. I have seen him fly the bolicat and he makes it dance. However, i have also seen keith fly and is purdy good too. Maybe Some day, if im good and continue to take my vitamins, I may be able to fly 1/2 as good as both of you. For now i just have to stick to taxiing back and forth on the runway.

Quality of this model is the best I've ever seen , sure a top notch kit!
Here is some photos of my new one, as you can see I choose a blue livery, which is the first one for Derjet:
