Hey Jason, did you really can it??? I would package it all up nicely and send it right back with a nice Big Letter explaining all that you have been through... Tell them to get it going...
Are you going for a Kolibri or waiting for the Cat... Can't wait to get a Nano as well just waiting a bit longer to see what comes along...
Happy Flying!!!

After many hours trying to get the JJJ running right I have given up. I managed to break two new rear bearings yesterday so that's 6 bearings the engine has had in total. I recon I must have had the thing apart 30 times and although I could see nothing wrong the blighter still would not run properly. I really thought with a little persistence I could have cracked the thing but unfortunately my supply of expensive bearings ran out before that so I have called it a day. I have now disposed of it and it is out of my life forever, thank god!!
Now I need another nano engine...

Too late, I've given it to someone who has helped me out in the past. I never want to see another JJ piece of junk for as long as I live. I have another nano engine coming soon from a respected engine builder so I should be back in the air in a few weeks. You are right to wait, I predict this nano engine thing is going to be the biggest thing to hit the turbine market in years as soon as jetcat and others bring out a reliable engine.

I'd have robbed you with two tubes of Hysol. It was not worth any more than half a bottle of Zap thats gone hard.

Great flight Andy, that's one sweet combo for sure. Andy have any new JJJ's passed through the shops hands and if so are they all performing like yours?
Looks like you have a solid running JJJ there Andy, excellent and I hope they are all going like this now... OK let me know please when you get a chance...
Thank You,
Mojo

Hi Andy
With your video I can belive you can run your turbine for more than 5 minutes.
Today I make the maiden fly of my VORTEX. The fly when OK, but after 4 minutes I put the junior at idle and it stop just before the runway. I land without problem.
Back in the pit, I connect the display and I have the message SPEED LOW.
So I will send it back to the factory for repair.

All it's telling you is that the engine stopped and when it spooled down and reached the min run speed the ECU the stops the pump and logs the 'speed low' message. I think you will find the likely cause is air in the fuel line or a sticky/faulty pump.

Yes I had another 6 flights yesterday. Sounds like you had air in the fuel like Jason said.
Give it another go.
Thanks

Hello at All,
it is my first time I will write here something....
Hello to you - all over the world.
My name is Fabian and I am working in the nice Switzerland.....
I have bought a Jet Joe Junior and yesterday I tried my first run.
But there have been some problems.
First the terminal showed: COOLING and the temperature had been something about: 296-300°C!
Later when I pulled out the connector to the glow-plug there had been the ambient temperature.....
Okay - back at home I recongnized, that the terminal doesnt show the pulse width and the relative stick position......
I use a JR PCM 9XII witha Spektrum AR9000 receiver.
Any solutions???
Thank you a lot - nece to be here now :-)
Greetings Fabian

Firstly welcome to RCU!
Are you sure all the plugs are in the correct sockets and the right way round in the ECU? If they are and you are reading 200-300 deg on a cold engine then the ECU will need replacement.
regards

Hello Jason,
everything is connected in the right orientation.
I think the problem is my RC.
Normally the Terminal should show on the second page the stick poisiton and the pulse width.
So the learning of the RC has failed....
Can there be a problem with the 2.4GHz transmitter/module?
Greetings & Thanks,
Fabian

I doubt if there would be a problem with linking a Spektrum set to the JJ ECU because the software was stolen from a Gaspar fadec and they work fine with Spektrum. I was flying on FASST and all was well. I would try a 35mhz set or whatever was used in Switzerland before 2.4 came out. I would also put a servo in the throttle socket on the Rx just to make sure it's working right.
The ECU is way too big for the JJJ anyway so if it has failed then it might be worth thinking about getting a Fadec Eco to run it with.

Hi Jason and Andy
Thank for your help, but I think I have a problem with one of the bearing because the rotor is blocked.
This is the third time I have this same problem. The first and the second time it happen when the JUNIOR was running on the bench.
So this will be the third time a send my JUNIOR to JOE.
Regards

Unfortunatly I think your JJJ will have a few more trips to the Orient... You might find the NGV has gone out of shape, this happened to mine a few times. But there again I also had a few bearings go as well...
Good luck

Hi Seravios
Unfortunately I don´t have a video of the flight.
The VORTEX is a trainer. If you can fly a MIDDLE STICK you can fly the VORTEX.

Hello,
yesterday I tried again with a brand new Spektrum AR6200 - and it works.
So the brand new AR9000 is damaged - don`t know why....crazy....
But now it is working and I will do a bench run on the next weekend.
@Jason: Do you have some more information about "Fadec Eco"?
It sounds interesting.
What should I improve before the installation and the first real flight?
Greetings & a nice day,
Fabian

Hi seravios
My VORTEX weighs 2600g at take off. With this I can fly at half throttle.
I have:
- 2 servos[img][/img] for elevator
- 2 for rudder
- 2 for aileron
- 1 for air brake
- 1 for nose wheel steering
all those servos are HD1900A
For the JUNIOR I have:
- a 5g fuel valve (SMC S070C), I also use this same valve for the gas on my JJ1200 turbine. On the picture you have JJ valve on the left.
- and 500ml of fuel tank.
For the ECU
- 6 SANYO ULTRA NiCd cells
For servos and RX
- 4 SANYO ULTRA NiCd cells
Both packs are in the nose for a correct GC

MENZAPSI,
2600gm is good AUW. I tried out the vortex on 4s electric setup, it was around 2500gm AUW. NOw converting to turbine. I hv a faulty fuel pump, waiting for replacement.
