Is it safe to fly my new Kingcat with a Futaba 14MZ with the 6014FS 2.4 receiver? What i have been reading makes me wonder.
I have two Duralite 2700Mah Li-ion packs that are independantly switched and regulated to 5.1 V, 9 JR 8611SA servos on all control surfaces, and Futaba 3101 servos on the brakes and retracts.

We have been using that same setup in our jets and IMAC planes since it came on the market. I flew all last summer in the AZ heat without one problem. I have setup a Kingcat, Ultralightning, Flash, and 3 Boomerangs, with the 6014rx and I have never had a bad or questionable range check.

Been using it in two jets for a year and a half now and not a single problem it is rock solid. We have a 6014 in a Flite Metal F-84G with zero problems as well.

As with any installation, keep the RX away from other electronics (pump, ECU) and need not worry.
Spread the antennas per the manual too. I have the same equipmentandhaveno problems... none.

Thanks for the help. I have been reading about problems with these receivers and i wanted to get some feedback from people actually using them. It range checks just fine so i think i'll take it to mid atlantic jet this weekend.

For me, part of my succsess isnot toroll my planes onto the ramp and let it sit and bake in the hot sun for hours; regardless of the radio brand, that is just careless.... plain and simple.

6014 with 12 FG.
18 months (plus) in Jets, heli's, Props.
Zero problems, not a single glitch, twitch or otherwise.
Make sure you keep the aerials at or around 90 degrees to each other.<o></o

I am very interested as i need to go either 12 FG or all the way to 14 MZ.
Any info on RXlockout due to overheating (i.e. extensive servo operation) resulting in necessary use of power Expander/Powerbox to separate RF from servos??
Your feedback in this respect would be much appreciated.
Best regards,

I switched my 14 MZ to 2.4 and have had no problems with 6014 FS receiver ( gold dot)in my Boomerang XL. Just got one of the new 6014 HS receivers which I installed in my new L 39. I will eventually switch all my planes to 2.4.

I've been flying the 14MZwith the 6014 for 2 years now in many jets - 1 issue.
I had 1 range issue on a chrome giant F-86 that was fixed once I relocated the receiver. I think this was a special case due to the size and amount of equipment in the plane, along with the chrome finish.
Other than that its a solid link and simple to install and bind. I've run it on a single battery/regulator, powerbox's, smartfly's, etc.

12FG transmitter with 6014 receiver bought in January 2008. Installed into a 35% AeroWorks Extra 260. Running eight JR DS8611and one Futaba 9202. All connected to the receiver. I did modify the power buss in the receiver to handle 20 amps. No power box, no power expander and no match boxes. I did all the servo matching in the transmitter. No glitches, no lock-outs and no problems.

I have a FG with a 6014HS with a red dot and it preforms perfectly, no glitches or any lock outs on Jets or Electric 3000 watts.

Using the 14MZ for 5 years andwith 2.4Ghz6014s for 2 years with no problem in my jets. Since using the 6014's, I do use SmartFly(PowerExpander14MZs & now PowerExpander Competition 12s) with 2 A123 packs forthe receiver. I don't use Futaba servos; I use JR or Hitec digitals so I want to be safe regarding the signal voltage from the 6014's.
