Default Turbine oil

I can’t seem to find any aero shell 500, this is what Airplane oils.com can get. Is any one using any one of these oils .

BP 2380: PRF - 23699F - STD
Mobil 254: PRF - 23699 - HTS
AeroShell 560: PRF - 23699 Class HTS Thanks George

When you guys state what oil you are using, It would be helpful to know what turbine you are using it in. I have been using Aeroshell 500 exclusively for 10 years. I have about 10 cans left and I am planning ahead if I cant get it anymore. The Oil Store isa only 45 minutes from my house!

Thanks in advance

I don't understand why you can't find Aeroshell 500. A simple Google search found these:

http://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalo...s/shell500.php

Did that search a month ago because you can't get Aeroshell 500 from the Oil Store right now and Gordon & I got the last 2 cases from Airplane Oil. The only issue with the other places is price, which goes anywhere from $30 to over $75 more per case than what we paid. Easy to find the oil, hard to find a good price.

I've heard from Jetcat and AMT that they like the shell 500. Clean as pin when they open it up !!!

Do some studying up on Mobile DTE oil. I did and I will no longer use the dangerous stuff that has always been used. The "normal" oil is not very human friendly. The DTE is way cheaper and from the reports I have heard here at RCU works just as well as the other stuff.
Read up on it and see what you think?

Maybe thats why their price is so good... If I were them and didn't have it, I'd sell it for $ 100.00 a case.

This is a copy of the e-mail that Tom sent me.
ello George,

Re: Order for AirplaneOil.com #2041

I have lately heard that the supplier that packages the AeroShell 500 has gone bankrupt and is still working but is extremely back logged. This is an alternative that I just found out about last week. You might check with others to verify what I have been hearing or with the engine manufacturer.

This is what I have. I'm reading off each of the cartons. The PRF- 23699 is the Mil Spec # and as I understand it other Model Jet folks are using any one of the products listed below.

BP 2380: PRF - 23699F - STD
Mobil 254: PRF - 23699 - HTS
AeroShell 560: PRF - 23699 Class HTS

Let me know your thoughts.

As I mentioned I will be out of the country but you could reach my son Josh King at 314-616-2487 or his email is [email protected].

Thank you!

I have been using the 2380 for several years. Ram 750, Ram 1000 and for past 2+ years, 2 Rhinos. Never a problem related to oil
