Did anyone see the Jet Cat P-20?

Now if there is a technical reason for not starting on Kero, that's a different matter that needs to be answered by JetCat.

Hello,
I have been waiting for a mainstream turbine company to do this for a long time, i nearly ordered a jjoe ??,I have been playing with a Scale Salto glider and an edf pod for a few months in order to sort out the correct thrust line for a 4mtr turbine version.I think i have found the ideal home for the new p20 when it arrives in the UK,
top marks to Jetcat ,
cheers Euan.
specs on the Salto are 2.6 mtrs span from a chinese Fly fly kit ,70mm edf from lander on 4s approx 950 watts all up weight is 3.5 lbs and fly rather well.

Talk about a production P-20 has been out for a couple of years now, so I wouldn't start holding your breath for a release anytime soon. Believe me, I hope I am wrong as I like this area of RC turbines and would like to see more nano-turbine products. However I think in the short term (at least another year), the Kolibri's will remain the sole source for a reliable nano-turbine.

i'll happily wait for the P20 and save what could be up to £600 on the Lambert and upto £1000 on the jjj
It needed a main stream company to come in to bring the prices down. It's a shame but i can't see anyone buying the Kolibri once this is on the market, unless they have an affliction to Jetcat.
i'll wait until Ali is bored with his next year and buy it off him

i had the p-20 in my hands , and that one has run on a testbench.
biggest job is to make whole new eletronics for it , and hopefully also for the P-60 that turbine also deserves a smaller ecu unit..
Lamberts one,s are good , at least they should , they are balanced on my former Schenk balancer i sold him..

So, you wanna give a lecture here as well on difference between truth and bashing? There is a saying , if you keep quiet,no one will say that you are dumb.
My advise to you is ,keep this tread clean, stick to the topic and stop behaving like a child. Be an adult. Please stop this issue regd JJ.

Both of you give it a rest, please.
Back on track: Anyone have any up to date information on the JetCat P20, the specification would be interesting, price would be quite something and availability would be wonderfull?

Mike,
the answer I got from JC when I asked the same question at JetPower was "sometime during March 2010", wheter that holds or not, I don't know (but I hope

So if and when this engine does come out, what airframes are available for this size engine with a thrust of say 5.5lb (just my estimate)?

I can't see it being 5.5lb but we'll see. It is only 5mm wider than the Lambert and P20 suggests 20N thrust which is about 4.5lb. That seems to correlate with the earlier post.
I may well be tempted when it is released but my current thought is that it is a little out of the 'turbine foamy' type range that makes the JJJ and Lambert so appealing. I'm sure it will find its niche somewhere.

I think there was mention by Markus from Cat that the engine was 5.5lb thrust but that may not be quite true. I'm just trying to think what size plane it would fit in because the Twinjet is way over powered by the JJJ/lambert as it the funjet so not an option for the new P-20. Theres does not seem alot about a far as models go that drop in between lambert and MW44 size airframes.

A lot of 70mm size EDFs that I would think could be converted. Maybe something from www.kamodels.com or the velocity T-33 or the Boogie hawk or . . . .
Some of the smaller 90mm EDFs should be fine too I would think.
Are you only looking to mount externally? I guess you would need a pipe made up otherwise?

Some good ideas there but I would like to find a plane I could mount the engine on and not in. A 125% Twinjet foamy would be great.

Not if its a Wrenn turbine on its own pipe.

Additionally, adding a pipe reduces the thrust.........

i thought any turbine when it placed internally with thrust tube will eventually looses small amount of thrust. Correct me if I am wrong.

Hello Euan,
I have a TT E2000 which i am keen to convert to pusher like yours but not EDF. How many degree upthrust needed in your case?
