Default Tamjets F-16 remaiden

remaidend my Tamjets F-16 with its new color scheme, had problems seeing the Edwards scheme in flight so a little sanding and paint and it took on a whole new outlook. weathering will commence now that it has flown and visibility is greatly improved. pics are from our last event of the year and weather was perfect in the mid 70's. tiger stripes will be added to the rest of the plane as painting continues but wanted to make sure the top looked different during test flights.

Kevin,
do you know the exact CG position ?
(I have one sitting here with a P60SE in it, waiting for some airtime )

first 14 flights was at 5" as reccomended in the manual, currently at 5.5" exactly with gear down and uat full. after much searching on rcu the consensus I came up with was 5.75" back from the leading edge at the wing /fuse joint, will try next week and report back. current set up is very neutral feeling but still requires a fair bit of stick inverted. very happy with it current setup though and has no bad habits at any time, as I was told.

Thanks Kevin!
I'll recheck the CG!
If I remember correctly, it is currently set at 5.5 (read that on a note from Tam).

Hey Kevin-

No, not yet. Work and family are my priorities right now. Two jobs, & two teenage girls playing near year-round soccer occupies 99% of my time. Being an RCU moderator, CARS II and a couple of other local guys are the only thing that's kept me connected with jets this past year.

I only have a Simjet 3000 right now, and I think it's way too much engine for it. My RAM 750 is at JDE getting upgraded to full autostart, so when I finally get it back [sm=72_72.gif] I'll put it in the F-16 and get her airborne again.

Thinking seriously of picking up one of the CRJETS A-10's and putting a pair of Tam's new 7-stator fan units in it when they're available.

Brg,
Mark

thanks guys, been fun getting it ready to fly again, all the changes I made totally changed its flying style. hope to get some pics of the F-86 posted as well, have some more flights on it with the wing tanks and it looks sweet. can't wait for the next event to catch up with you guys or make a trip to the bay area. Raf, you want to loan me your Flash? you need the room to finish the UB up anyway, lol

Dude,

I went to a new field where I had to stay below 400' and hence couldn't use smoke in my flash, well I couldn't use smoke in my bandit either, becuase the instant I hit smoke I would give away how high I was flying.

Well, I had to land with full smoke tanks. Let me tell you the flash was UNHAPPY. The CG was aft (because of full smoke tanks) and with my 90 degree flaps (ie airbrakes) I had a porpoising approach. I thought I was going to loose it!!

I made it down in one piece, drained the smoke and then she was all happy landings after that!!

Check this landing Ehab made with my Kingcat, my flash looked like that!

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOUUUUUUUUUUUUUCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCHH HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! been there, one of these days you'll have to make a trip up here, spec'd out the Reaction this weekend, must have been around 3000 feet. nice not having any noise or altitude restrictions and the crowd loves the 199 wide open passes on the deck.

thanks Carlos, hard part now is finding time to down the aircraft for a few days to finish the stripes and weathering now that the flying season has begun here. it may stay unfinished till next summer as I am having a great time flying it right now.

Kevin

anyone have any settings for taileron differential? I do not get quite axial rolls on the verticals. I can experiment with different settings but was looking for a rough setting.
