Ducts & bypass sizing?
What are the rules of thumb when it comes to sizing inlet area, bypass, exhaust pipes for turbines? In my application, looking at sizing for P80-P120 sized turbines. Thanks in advance. -John

John
Inlet length will affect area, Bye pass on a turbine anything from 3/8" to 1/2" all around (3/4 to 1" on dia) Tail pipe again many variables, but 3 1/2 to 4" is good for either a P80-P120.
Can you say what aeroplane?

RE: Ducts & bypass sizing?
Duct is for a sport jet a group of us locally designed. Distance from the inlet to the front of the turbine housing will be about 14" as shown by the tape on the plug. Probably only need 6" of pipe after the turbine. Does this help?
