Default Kingtech turbines . . . any good or not?

As the title suggests. . . . . Anyone have any good or bad things to say on these.

Prices are cheap,

Servicing seems very cheap

But, will all this low cost proove too costly in the end or not????

Actual expriences welcomed !!!!

My friend Dave Wilde had the first Kingtech K80 into the UK, about a year ago. It was put into a FEJ Rafale after bench tests confirmed the thrust was correctly quoted. It has now had 57 flights and has run for 480 minutes (8 hours). It has been a very reliable starter and has not needed any attention since being installed. The idle is slightly uneven and he plans to fit a Flightworks pump in place of the original pump which should smooth out the idle.

Hi,

Good experience with the K80, bought 3 since last year. All fitted and running/flying (Velox, JLF16, GJC F86).

I'm very pleased with the K80 so far from what I've seen, very nicely built, solid runner, great service from Barry, and a price that can't be beat, what more could you ask for!

edit: re-reading my post, it sounds like I've only seen them, but I do own one!

My K80 has 113 minutes on it, stock pump and no problems. I would highly recommend this engine...staight up plug and play!

Also, service from Barry is unmatched!

Good luck in your selection!

All I can recommend is that you purchase one and see for yourself. The turbine for what the price goes for is great. Barry provides nothing but good service and tech support. I've had no issues with the K80 and it has probably about 5 hours run time.

You will be very suprised how well these turbines perform. Give Barry a buzz, he can explain any questions you may have.

Regards,

I don't own one but my friend does so I'm familiar with it and I would buy one in a heart beat. Great turbine and I know my buddy has had nothing but good things to say about Barry and Todd.

Hi,

Barry is a top-notch guy. That's a big deal when we're talking about a $2k investment.

I was searching Kingtech threads to help answer Andy's question and came up with this one; I must say it is extremely encouraging to hear your approvals, thanks guys!
