Hello Craig
I saw on one of your pics that you have a leading edge in retract position. Did you install controled L.E. ?
I install the Detail4scale LE mechanism. It is working correctly.

Hello Stan,
No, my L.E.'s are glued in the retracted position. The L.E.'s on the real A-10 were an addition, not to improve landing or takeoff performance but to smooth out the airflow over the wing in that area which was causing engine compressor stall issues at high AOA. They would come out automatically during high g maneuvers. As such, I didn't think they were necessary on the model.

Nevertheless, your L.E.'s look very good as does the rest of your A-10. I am very impressed with your building skills and the detail you have put into your jet (especially that landing gear and door rigging)!

Hi Stan,

Struggling with issues over the new gear/cylinders at the mo - it's slowed me down a bit! Will update my thread over the weekend hopefully.

What turbines are going in yours? Great job on the paintwork by the way!

Rgds,
Mark

RE: Mibo A-10 Build

I bought a pair of P160SX , I know that it is too much but the throtle control is proportional ...
This choice had been decided because in case of tragedy with the A10 I could use more easily P160 than P120. And because I bought 4 p160SX and I get a very low price. And because because ....
There are not a lot of place for these engines in the pod ( it's the same size as the P120 ). I had to produce a new tank to increase the fuel capacity. In fact, Charles, a friend of mine made the plug and mold the tank. We did that to keep in place the Mibo tanks wich are piece of art. As all the molded part of the A10 kit !!!
But I highly recomend to buy the special tank designed by Joe Grice especially for the A10 gen4. Here is the link :

Don't hesitate to ask question about systems before working on them so that you will see the solutions I used and improve them on your A10.
Best regards
Stan

Nice.. how much capacity the original tanks have?

Capacity around 2.4 liters, I think

Stan,

Hi, quick question, the tanks appear to have a relatively small vent opening (inlets in the case of the lower tanks), with two P160's drawing on them I might be inclined to increase the size of these. The Jettech tanks all seem to have the high flow units fitted.

Just FWIW,

I have the JetTech tanks (Grice version) and had an additional vent placed in the top tank, all piping is 3/16 ID minimum. This has been flawless with minimal tank deformity during filling and no suction issues - but I am only running P120s.

Mark thought you might enjoy some of Jimbo's recent paintings of the MIBO A-10 Ordnance.

It should be noted that there is a MIBO A-10 HOLIDAY SPECIAL @ $7,715 including 13 of these Ordnances :

OK,

I'm conscious that I didn't completely help regarding my post about the mismatched elevator halves! For those that need to know, when standing behind the model the left elevator should be 43cm and the right one 42.5cm.

Hope that helps!

Mark

Hello Marcs
I observe that Jetcat is using 4mm diameters tube to feed the pump. So each tube have a section of 12,56mm2 ( 3,14x 2x2 ). there is two engines so total section needed is at least 12,56x2= 25 mm2.
In my big feeding tank all tubes are 6mm diameter. So the section is 28mm2 ( 3,14x3x3) and with less loss due to friction.
May be I made an error in my thinking process, so don't hesitate to tell me.
I made a test by fueling and defueling everything was OK.

Edit: LOL I have posted the same reply in both threads as I thought it had got dropped when I submitted the first time! :)

Hello guys, I thought I would resurrect this very old thread, I don't know whether Mark ever finished and flew his A10?
I'm awaiting delivery of the third box for my generation 6 A10, meanwhile I have fitted the flaps and am now working on the decelerons, I don't know if this will be the first Mibo to have them
I think probably it will be?
If any of you A10 flyers are interested in my work I can post some pictures and possibly some build blurb. I am sure to need some help along the way..............cheers.

Hey Mick
Yes look forward to your build. I have the Ver. 5.5. Your right mine doesn't have the decelerons. What other upgrades have they added.

Hello
I'm curious about the Mibo's deceleron system !
Could you post some pics ?
Thanks
Stan

Hi Alan/Stan, it's my modification to the existing ailerons. It's work in progress. I will post some pics soon.

Home made printed fans in PLA (stiffer than ABS). See video at the end.

Mibo A10 still is the ultimate best airframe you can get
